TV Sucks - Step Away from the Evil Box
I have to 2 kids --one is 2 yrs, the other is 8 months-- and I have not had the time to watch hardly any TV since the first one was born (except for Dora the Explorer and Sesame Street. I'm the map I'm the map I'm the map!!!).

As a result I don't seem to go through the wild emotional swings I used to regarding the election, polls, etc... If you stick to the web/print, I think you get a more even, broader picture of things.

For instance, reading some of the posts here today, mostly people reporting what they saw on TV, you'd almost think that * has aleady won the election. You don't get that impression by reading articles in the NY Times, WaPo, local press, etc...

Step away from the TV folks. I know sometimes I feel like I need to watch TV to see what the masses are seeing, but I'm not sure what good that does me. And then I'm just contributing to their ratings! You already know what you're going to see before you turn it on anyway.

just my two cents.

I disconnected my cable 4 years ago and I rarely watch TV. Zappa's song "I'm The Slime" pretty much sums it up for me. I took the money I would spend on cable and got the fastest DSL connection available in my area. At least with the net you can choose your propaganda. Those prime time shows are the worst.

2. "Why do you think they call it PROGRAMMING?" I saw a great
t-shirt at www.northernsun.com that has a t-shirt with that quote under a television with the red "hypnotist's swirls" on it. Orwell was so right on. If anyone has the slightest doubt about where KKKarl Rove gets his material they need to read 1984.
