Team America: World Police

http://movies.yahoo.com/movies/feature/teamamericaworldpolice.html

From the creators of South Park, This politcally-minded comedy action adventure tells the story of Team America, a group of superhero-style adventurers who travel the world fighting terrorism and other evils.
---------------------------------------------------------------
And from the creator of Family guy comes American Dad.

American Dad is the animated story of Stan Smith (Seth MacFarlane), who works for the CIA and is constantly on the alert for terrorist activity. Stan will go to extremes to protect his beloved America from harm Ð as evidenced by the terror-alert color code on his fridge, and his frequent knee-jerk reaction of shooting holes in the toaster whenever the toast pops up.

So we might actually get some edgy satire finally.

The question is, will they make fun of Liberals and Conservatives equally or will it be slanted for one side?

The creators of South Park are Jewish. They frequently and ruthlessly mock Jesus.

Most their cartoons have a conservative slant to them, so I wouldnÕt be surprised if
This movie is pro Israel and pro war.

Seth MacFarlane I donÕt really know about, so weÕll have to wait and see.

Team America: World Police comes out October 15, so I think it will have an impact on the
Election.

American Dad doesnÕt come out until next year so it wonÕt have any impact the election.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

4. Not that familiar with family guy but the

premise of American Dad seems like it has potential to be very funny.

2. Actually, the South Park guys DESPISE Bush.
And they also DESPISE Kerry. They just don't trust politicians. And if one of their cartoons has a conservative slant, then that's just how Trey and Matt feel on that particular issue. They take liberal positions a lot, too.

3. I don't think Trey is Jewish...
I could be wrong, but Matt Stone voices Kyle who is Jewish and Trey Parker is Stan who is not. I vaguely remember an article saying the characters are loosely based on them.

South Park skewers *everyone*. No subject is safe. Jesus is portrayed as a slightly bewildered talk-show host whom everyone likes but doesn't pay a lot of attention to. There is plenty of Christian and Jewish bashing in generous amounts, but there is also plenty of evenhanded morality and "live and let live".

One episode sets up the Mormon religion for a complete debunking, and ends up with the son of the quite-happy family saying "perhaps it's not true, but I have a great life..." that he loves his family and the philosophy...essentially a "screw you guys, I'm going home."

South Park is one of the most savage voices of satire out there. I expect "Team America:WP" will be the same. Best thing about this type of humor is that it's blisteringly funny even when your jaw drops open in "oh no they didn't!" surprise.
