As long as I have been in the Army, I have noticed an interesting trend, that seems to go all the way into the Whitehouse.

If a young soldier does something on his own initiative, that is good, gets recognition, and benefits the unit and the Army, everyone lines up for a piece of this kids recognition, from his first line supervisor all the way up to his battalion and brigade commanders.....But if that same young kid screws up, well then, he was on his own.....Sounds like Abu Graib to me.

I loved the Powell one with the Iraq veteran in the airport! Couldn't make the point better that lies smearing Kerry's medals smear all medalled vets. Great touch to have Bush on Faux news approving the "news"!

I've only been looking at cartoons the last couple of months. Have cartoonists always been this cutting about Bush, portraying him so chimp-like? Or has it gotten more severe in recent months? Was there some turning point when it got worse?
