Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 10:20 PM by UTUSN
At least Dennis MILLER is totally marginalized. The Fauxers SAID he CHEENEED himself by picking CNBC over Faux.

2. Pugs have been losing ground on Hannity
Colmes has been beating them down a little bit. Hannity loses a litte ground by foaming at the mouth. And the guests know what to expect now too, so they just put it all back in Hannity's face relentlessly.

3. CNN is no longer my first choice in news.
MSNBC is but have had to backslide to CNN because of Olympic coverage.

4. Olberman's numbers are disappointing.
O'Reilly got more than 6 times the audience. Tweety's numbers are ok though.

5. Proof that Republicans are DULL! They're home watching cable
news. This is more an indictment of the sad state of their lives than anything else.

6. Perspective
A rating point is 880,000 people.

So...Dennis Miller has 88,000 viewers.

OReilly and Hannity about 1.6 million.

At $8 per ticket, about 12.5 million tickets have been sold for Fahrenheit 9/11.

Over 100,000,000 will vote this year.

12. they are political entertainment, the WWF of political discourse.

targeted to a limited audience. Not much impact.

Much more interesting, and relevent, to find out what pop culture is saying.

Look at the line up of entertainers for Bush and Kerry. Check out what Dave and Jay are joking about. When was the last time rock bands that appeal to the 18-25 year old market banded together and released two albums dedicated to throwing an elected President out of office? And a documentary breaking $100,000,000 box office?

7. hardball i think was doing .4 or .5 so his #s are going up a bit though
it looks like keith went down a little... i dont know. but since the dem convention msnbc coverage featured chris and of course bumped keiths show during that time, that is likely one reason for the change

whats gretas show like? ive never seen it

10. Keith's ratings are actually up overall,
as are MSNBC's overall. Yes, they're still in third place behind Faux and CNN, but they are showing definite signs of life. Earlier this week there was a statistical tie between Zahn & Olbermann.

9. A bit misleading...
if I'm not mistaken, those numbers are based on the number of sets that are constantly on a particular network. That's why Fox's numbers are higher, because a large segment of the right wing refuse to watch anything else. The average "NORMAL" person switches back and forth between various programs, including FOX, which affects the numbers.

11. And wouldn't these just be the results from the metered markets--
the top 30--not the whole nation? I've never been real clear about how Nielsen gathers the numbers for the cable audience (my background was in broadcast TV--not cable).
