Oh, you'll love this post on the Yahoo boards.
I know, the Yahoo boards, but this is just too funny. It's a thread on the father who burned a Marine van in Florida after being informed of his son's death. This post is in response to a guy who argued that the rich rarely serve on the front lines of war.

http://news.messages.yahoo.com/bbs?.mm=&action=m&board=37138445&tid=apmarinekilledfatherburned&sid=37138445&mid=1810&thr=1257&cur=1257&dir=d

Re: Rich never serve in war.

Msg: 1810 of 1859

That's just Marxist propaganda. It probably makes sense that most of the front line soldiers are not rich. Would it really be in the national interest for the rich to be on the front lines of war when they are more likely to be better educated, and when they are more likely to own businesses, thus making them the job creators of this country? It serves the nation's best interests for the rich to stay home during a war, as we need them here to keep creating jobs and keep our economy moving. Poor folks usually are not very skilled or educated, and thus have little to offer the homefront, so they can serve their country on the battlefield. Besides, it's the rich who pay all the taxes in this country for all the welfare programs used by the poor. Shouldn't they have to give something back and earn their keep in America?

22. I am convinced they are brain washed. I see it at work. They don't
care about Bush/Chaney corporate crimes. They actually believe that getting their own co-workers jobs exported to India is good for the economy.

One man actually attempted to justify it by saying Trickle Down economics is better because for every 300 jobs sent to India call centers, it actually creates 3 new jobs at home that pay better!!!

THREE FUCKING NEW JOBS.... HOLY SHIT PEOPLE WOW 3 JOBS FOR 300 LOST.

I asked him if he actually heard himself just talk. It was unbelievable. Especially all the anger and spew he was retching because I simply dis-agreed with him. Not once did I ever insult this man. At any rate, all he did was just reinvigorate my drive to get as many undecideds and normal non voters to the polls as possible.

Yahoo message boards are filled with these creeps, this dosen't surprise me at all. Remember these people are cowards and driven by fear so they will feel embolden by the anonyminity a free Yahoo account affords. So they spew this crap that they wouldn't say in real life. If you met one of them in real life they'd prob pee their pants and run away.

35. What An Idiot!
People who fight the wars are in their late teens and early 20's. Ergo, they're NOT likely yet better educated, they're NOT likely running a business to hire other people and create jobs, and without those "poor" people who take those jobs, the economy is a stationary object. No growth, no profits, no cash flow!

People like this are so trapped in two dimensional thought, that they can't even begin to realize how stupid these statements are.

The economy is driven by two basic things: The money people spend on "stuff", and the money the government spends on "stuff" all supplied through the taxes paid by the people who MAKE THE STUFF. Take away the ability of people to make and buy "stuff", and there is no economy, no taxation base, and the rich people stop being rich.

That ought to be simple enough, even for this imbecile to follow.
The Professor

...it's not just a matter of rich vs. poor. There are also members of the middle class who join the military for one reason or another. His post also begs the question of where he stands on the economic ladder. If he is poor or middle class then he should have been posting this from Iraq or Afghanistan if he wants to put his money where his mouth is. If he is rich then the stupidity of his post completely disproves his thesis that the rich are better educated.

43. Well There's Some Logic That Eats Itself
The uneducated are poor because they are uneducated. Because they are uneducated, they deserve to be poor.

The educated are rich because they are educated. Because they are educated, they deserve to be rich.

The poor deserve to go fight our wars for us because they are uneducated. The rich deserve to stay here and make more money because they are educated. The rich become richer while the poor become poorer -- or dead. The rich then can afford good educations for their children, ensuring that they will not have to die in wars, either.

This is class warfare at its very core.
