So many people call themselves Republicans because of class alone. They fear despite the fact they agree and vote more often for the Democratic candidates, suddenly they would no longer be considered middle class by friends or neighbors for doing that.

Peer pressure and bigotry unfortunately stop middle class and working class independents and Republicans from joining ranks with Democrats. If this hurdle can be overcome, our nation could experience the greatest re-alignment in history.
