Insurance companies have been tricking young soldiers into buying life insurance they do not need. Frank Keeting and the American council of Life Insurers have been helping these insurance companies keep their access to the young troops. According to Jim Hightower these soldier do not even know they are buying life insurance. The soldiers actually think that what they are signing is part of a class. The thing that makes matters worst is that some times the classes are lead by former senior officers. To find more about this you can go to Jim Hightower's website and read or listen to two articles he has done on the subject. You can also read three article about the subject in the New York Times. These articles are: "Insurers Rely on Congress to Keep Access to G.I.'s", "Fleeing American Soldiers", "Going off to War, Vulnerable to the Pitches of Salesmen". All these article were published on July 21, 2004.
