CNN - Zahn had GI blowing whistle on Military Intelligence Re: Torturre

Tune in NOW.

After break she'll have the MI deny it.

People were ID'd in the photo we used to speculate about.

Now, Zahn is a Whore with a capitol Dubya. I'm not sure what the tact here is, but I trust they are somehow trying to help the higher officials escape, but it seems to be implicating them.

MP says that MI Ken Davis told him they were in charge and what they were doing was Ok. In his words, he was a christian man who wanted to help people. He was near tears in the interview. Felt it was wrong but he was confused about the chain of authority.

He also said he was not given the rules of the Geneva Conventions.

--

Now Roman Krol - the MI officer. This guy has a distinct accent.

Krol was not shocked, and was indifferrent to the abuse.

He says he was not giving orders, he just walked by.

Agrees it was humiliation and inappropriate. He is blaming the MPs who said these three on the floor raped a little boy. He went to to talk to one of his prisoners. Says the detainees were naked when he got there. Says he doesn't remember Davis. Says maybe Davis is covering for a friend.

To me, this guy almost seemed caught in a lie. Smirky. Suspicious that he doesn't remember the MP. He is pretty cold. Trying to forget what he saw in Iraq.

This guy says it was unclear who was in charge also.

Says he will be charged. Says he can't fight the charge because he didn't report what he saw.

---
this link says basically what Davis said.
http://www.lancasteronline.com/pages/news/ap/4/prisoner_abuse_witness

"Davis said Cruz and Krol were the perpetrators, while he and Rivera looked on. The military intelligence soldiers called on Graner mainly to yell at the detainees using his commanding voice, Davis said."

My speculation is that Israel Rivera and Roman Krol may be Israeli torture specialists who would be versed in the best forms of torture to humiliate Iraqis. The tortures have been said to have been tailored to be especially offensive to Arab Muslims.

-------

Spc. Israel Rivera, an intelligence analyst, testified that his colleagues reveled in the misconduct, much like the prison guards: "It was just something out of sport. It was like, 'Hey, do you want to see something cool?' "

The senior officer in the intelligence unit, Capt. Carolyn A. Wood, also for the first time gave her account of her subordinates' behavior. She detailed how two of her soldiers — whom she did not name — had been written up for forcing a detainee to strip to his boxer shorts and march back to his cell.

Wood said she "removed the interrogator and analyst" from their posts and recommended nondisciplinary job counseling for them — unlike the MPs, who are facing decades of prison time if convicted.

...

"They were put together in a big bundle of bodies and handcuffed together," Rivera said. "They were made to look as if they were having sex. Cruz stepped on their buttocks to simulate homosexual activities. Krol threw a football at them."

Interesting...

Israeli interrogators in Iraq - An exclusive report

At least one aspect of the occupation of Iraq was well planned by Washington. The USA needed help conducting mass interrogations of Arabic-speaking detainees. Foreign Report can now reveal that, to make up for this shortfall, the USA employed Israeli security service (Shin Bet) experts to help their US counterparts 'break' their captives.

The USA could have approached other friendly regimes in the Middle East, such as Egypt or Jordan, which have vast experience interrogating Muslim fundamentalists. The Israelis may be brilliant linguists, but they cannot match Arabs speaking their own language. But there is a significant difference between the Egyptian and Jordanian interrogation techniques and those of the Israelis. For the Egyptian and Jordanian secret services, physical torture is an essential part of interrogation and a key element in breaking the prisoner's will and making them co-operative.

Is this, in fact, Roman Krol, identified on the right below?

Somebody comments, "That was great," or "Oh, boy!" or something equally cryptic -- and it's completely information-free. If you are going to comment, please describe what you are commenting on, for those of us who don't have current access to a TV.

Thank you.

6. Agrees it was humiliation and inappropriate.
How many in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere were beaten to death, sodomized and or sexually abused? Most definitely inappropriate if you are trying to shine your image as the example to the world. What hypocrites.

8. Debunked! Original caption of Tattoo photo
Edited on Fri Aug-27-04 01:11 AM by Must_B_Free

A prisoner, who said he was a Moroccan Jew, shows off his tattoos at the Abu Ghraib Prison on the outskirts of Baghdad, Iraq, late Saturday, May 8, 2004. Military police said that he was being housed in a private cell, instead of one of the large tent compounds outside, to protect him from other prisoners, because of his religion. the only interesting thing is that his is not in an orange jumpsuit nor is he in a special cell. In fact he appears to be on the second floor of the area above where the torture incidents occurred - the same area where Krol says he was visiting one of his Interrogation subjects. The brown shirt is the same as the prisons guards wear. weird.
