does anyone know what the biggest arguments the right has against this film and any good rebuttals to them. we're doing a showing here on campus tonight and i'm sure some douchebags from the college GOP will come to give us trouble.

2. I have a couple standards
O'Reilly said they cut together the footage of him saying "shut up" unfairly (irony?). He said some of the statements he made were things like "If you don't want people to know you're gay then you should shut up" And he thought it was unfair to just cut that down to "shut up." (Funny if it wasn't disgusting).

FNC has said the people involved were ex-staffer who left due to "incompetence" and were ottherwise disgruntled.

Some of that is within this article: http://www.nydn.com/front/story/211751p-182268c.html

But neither one of those does much to debunk what is there on screen.

oh and, Peter Chernin of Fox recently donated to the DNC -- they may say that proves the network is balanced. Chernin donated after this documentary came out and in a very public way.

3. A couple

1. Some of the people listed as fox producers/reporters are not employees of Fox News, but of local Fox stations. They say this hurts the credibility because the film pretends to be about the national entity, not the various markets.

2. Selective use of images, like Sean Hannity saying "263 Days until George Bush is re-elected president" without showing Colmes saying the same thing every other day as he apparently does (I don't know about the truthfulness of that).

3. Many news agencies say "some people say" without attributable sources because of the shorthand required in televised news. This is actually NOT true, because most times talking heads say "sources say."

4. Not all "shut ups" are created equal.

5. People are just jealous of Fox's ratings supremacy. Of course the doc doesn't address that!

edit: clarity

5. I have heard no definitive refutation of things presented in the film..
and I have personally seen the film. I think its hard to argue with it.
