Man lights self, van on fire upon news of sons death in Iraq.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/US/South/08/25/father.ablaze/index.html

Bush should be dragged into the streets like Mussolini and strung up for the parents of slain US soldiers in Iraq to throw rocks at! I feel so sorry for this man and his family.

1. Opportunity for Jeb Bush
To remove another anti-Bush voter from the rolls in Florida by labeling him as a "felon".

2. This is beyond being anti-Bush!
I think this man's hatred and sorrow runs a little deeper than my own! How can you console someone like this? What can you possibly say to ease the grief and heartache of this man? I just hope the man makes it to see Bush get tossed out in November! That's the only positive thing I can foresee happening to this man!

3. My deepest sympathies and
Heartfelt sorrow go out to that man. May his son rest in peace...

I read a fantastic article written by a Marine who talked about how he was horrified by the fact that America was losing it's grip on reality in the Casualty spectrum of combat in Iraq. He said that It used to be that Americans mourned each and every US Soldier when one was KIA and took a look at their reasons for being there (Mogadishu, the firefight and casualties caused us to withdraw)But now we've been de-sensitized by the media's coverage. We wake up and hear "Another US Soldier was killed by an IED, or an ambush or whatever" and don't even care.

His story detailed his experience notifying a family of their loss and how the event forever changed him. He feels a deep, personal blow every time he hears about a man's death in Action simply because he saw firsthand what the consequences of the news is back at home with no cameras rolling.....

9. Local papers do not turn a blind eye
although they perform to patriotic expectations without letting in anti-war sentiment. Yet it does seem to be wearing thin and too common by repetition. The national news media though is completely in lala land and they actually bear guilt for leading us into the war without benefit of protest or facts.

5. So Tragic, my local paper
did not focus on the "man burns self" part - I had read the story on DU and thus was surprised to see this headline:

"Man burns Marine van after learning of son's death"

6. Charlie Gibson Pulled the plug
on GMA this morning while interviewing the the step mother just as she said "this war has to stop..." She was about to attack the senselessness (it seemed) of the Iraq fiasco when the video and audio quickly cut to Charlie saying "sorry about your loss". And end of interview.

The medi; still hard at work shilling for the BFEE.
