One more Liberal voice in the media, mine!!!

Ok, I got a column in our college newspaper. My town's college is Ole Miss. I'm not the best writer, but I am informed.

I will be writing on behalf of the College Democrats. Once a week, I get to write a column about why I think people should vote for John Kerry. The repubs get their own writer, too. Once a week I get to inform a few thousand people of all of Bushco's misdeeds and then compare them to an America we can have under the real democratic leadership of John Kerry.

I'm glad that Kerry has done enough stuff to be proud of. I get to bring up Iran Contra! I get to talk about trickle down economics! I get to quote important famous people like the Roosevelts, Lincoln, George Orwell, Huey Long, etc. I get to talk logic and point out that EVERY argument the repugs have used in the last 3 1/2 years is either ad hominum attack, straw-man, or circular, with a little bit of bandwagon thrown in their just for fun. That will let me mention who sits in our wagon, folks like: De Niro, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, the Living members of the grateful dead, Bon Jovi, the Beastie Boys, the Dixie Chicks, Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, Kevin Bacon, Ben Affleck, Matt Damen, Steven Speilburg, The Black Eyed Peas, the Bonnie Raite, Bruce Sprinsteen, Leonardo De Caprio, Toby Mc Quire, Tom Waits, and so on and so on, are all democrats. I can't wait!

So even though my contribution may be small, let me say that I am totally proud to be in the company of my fellow democrats. I am doing this for a love of my country and ALL the people in it, even those that hate my guts. I will work very hard to make you here at DU proud of my work.

that lays the draft all out for ya. One thing that Bushco does that makes our job easier, is their arrogance. They are so sloppy, and they have so much dirt, pointing to a few links is not a hard thing to do.

This is great news. A smallish, southern town such as Oxford needs to hear your voice. If your town is like my small home town, too often the republicans go unchallenged in their claims. If only they understood. I have great faith in people, when educated, to do the right thing. Now you will be part of educated them. Keep us updated, and if allowed, why not posts your column(s) here on DU too. I would love to read it and I'm sure others would too.

Don't put yourself down because you don't write as well as the other person whom you think writes better than you do. There is always someone who does something better than you do. It doesn't mean that what you do is bad. As a matter-of-fact I think what you write is very good and often excellent.

ESPECIALLY with younger voters - who notoriously don't bother, so the statistics say.

I've found, however, that when young men find out they could be involuntary war-fodder, and young women find out their bodies will no longer be their own, SOME of 'em start paying attention.

EXCELLENT! We need all the good voices that we can get. Excellent that the college paper even would have a Democrat's voice in there. Or maybe the much-vaunted grassroots successes of the republi-CONS are just more smoke 'n' mirrors. That's where they claim their take-over of the national agenda starts (at the bottom and working up).
