Dole isnt Bush, he isnt in the Bush administration. He can lob grenades at Kerry without implicating Bush, meanwhile Kerry cant attack Dole back because Dole has a fairly good public perception as a respected old war hero. And Kerry really can only attack Bush.

So now you have one of the more famous veterans in the country just craping all over Kerry and forcing through the Bush talking points that Kerry is running on his vietnam record and ignoring issues and his veitnam record is questionable at best. Dole gets good airtime and gets heard by alot of people and he makes national news with what he says because he is still in the public conciousness.

Yes, he is shaming himself. Yes what he says is a lie and is stupid.

But just the same, it is going to help Bush alot.
