1. Sounds to me like it's got a lot to do with Bush.

He's killed probably hundreds of teenage muslim girls.

4. It wasn't my thread - I posted at the end of it
What disturbed me was some of the responses in that thread.

8. Yes. It was about vigilantes who unjustly murdered a young girl.

Just like Bush has been doing for a couple of years now.

9. My point is that it probably did actually happen and that it is not
some kind of set-up for * to invade Iran.

There are bad people and bad things that happen that have nothing to do with *.

10. I think you misunderstood the posters
Most if not all of them were saying that this would be overblown as an excuse to invade Iran, not that it was a setup, and some of them questioned the timing, which is paranoid but not particularly disturbing.

The point is that, yes, there are human rights violations in countries, but our government is going to use such violations as excuses for even larger violations, just like we did in Iraq.

7. I just skimmed the thread, but I dont see your point.
A few stupid posts, but nothing particularly offensive, and we have stupid posts on all our threads.

11. I think I see where you
are coming from Rumguy and if I am on the right track here, then I agree with you. What happened to that poor girl in Iran was wrong. It was a terrible and unfair thing. Instead of people taking up for her and feeling outrage about what happened to her a lot of them wanted to talk about how they think America is just as bad or worse.

Well we do some pretty fucked up things here in America, but I have never seen a 16 year old (and possibly retarded) girl hanged because she was immoral. Probably the Puritans did such things, but I have never seen such a thing. If we are good people, I think we should condemn what was done as wrong--it is just that simple. And it is kind of crazy that lots of people did not really condemn it, they just groused about how things are here instead.

Regarding Iran. I am not fond of religious theocracies regardless of who runs them.
