I don't think you meant to imply that Kerry DID have a film crew. No. No film crew, just an 8mm. it was a commonplace thing. Guys bought 8mm cameras back then. Just as there was no film crew on the sub. They DID get poppy bush to look at the camera though. "Beautiful like that!"

If 90% of the hate-filled do-anything, say-anthing, no honor, lie-like-hell, NIXON-types, were Democrats, then you would have had an "Avenger Pilots for Truth" campaign in 1988, because, as we know, the only eye-witness to the poppy bush bail-out saw GHWB abandon his crew and let the plane crash even though he could have ditched it. The plane was not on fire, reported a tailgunner of a nearby plane.

Now, I don't give that report much credence, but the point is Dukakis said like "we'll have none of that in this campaign." And there was not even an effort to put out that message, just a rumor-like thing.

A neighbor repeated this talking point ("Heck, Kerry must've had a film crew following him around!") and I just said "Hey, didja ever see that film where Georgie's dad was pulled on to the submarine after he was shot down?"

Yeah, I can see that now in context. But it set me to thinking, and I'd like to see a big-production movie about Kerry in Nam. Remember PT-109 with Cliff Robertson as Jack Kennedy? There are so many great stories that I didn't know about until this swift boat thing brought them out. For example, google orphansofwar.org and Kerry to see about that PBS documentary Be Good Smile Pretty. That woman's father was the Mr. Droz who was one of Kerry's buds over there! Reading about that makes you realize what Kerry went through and what a disgrace it is for people to attack him and his service for the Republican party and Mr. AWOL.
