Positive Thoughts About Bush's Future
Stop thinking there's a chance Bush won't lose in November. Think positive! Envision Bush's future as a full-time resident of Crawford, Texas.

Bush will spend a couple of months in a sulk about losing the election. At first he will decline invitations to address the American Dental Association at their annual convention in Las Vegas. Eventually he'll get over it, especially when they promise to name him "Flosser of the Month".

With plenty of money and plenty of leisure time, he'll keep out of world affairs. He'll answer letters written to him by school children. He won't start any bogus wars. He'll play Fetch with his dog. When admirers tell him they miss him, he will smile wanly.

2. Down at the ranch...
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 10:04 AM by obelus
I happened to catch Bush's remarks on C-Span yesterday evening. Bush ambled out dressed as a ranch hand fixin' to get dirty for a shoot-the-shit with the well-combed press corp (whose hands are as soft as a preacher's). Interestingly, he was accompanied by a silent Vice President, National Security Advisor, and Defense Secretary all looking as down-at-the-ole-watering hole as you can look by simply removing your tie. Is this guy ever allowed to speak informally to the press without a cadre of heavies?

Bush has a way of seeming to merely tolerate the press; like he's speaking to a teenager he sincerely wishes would get off her butt and do something other than sit and watch TV all day. He rattled off his list of daring feats of political heroism like a cattleman pleased with what his herd fetched at the auction barn. "Fifty-million more free and democratic people on the world's Main Street ready to eat hot dogs and apple pie. It weren't easy by a damn sight, but it got done. Fixin' to patch the shed roof now and pull a stump or two."

At the end, walking away he called his dog Barney. Barney simply stared back at him. Dogs know when someone is lying. "C'mon boy", George pleaded. Barney reluctantly skipped towards him , was snatched up into that big ol' Ford duelly along with Cheney ridin' shotgun and they all piled off to introduce Condi to the joys of snipe huntin'.

Are you better off than you were four years ago? They certainly are.
