Help!
I am trying to write a page of info to give out regarding regulation. And since these are mainly republicans that are going to get it, I know I have to show that they benefit from it, but I need some help.

How do I explain the benefit of having the government poking around giant corporations?

2. I want to go in what helps people the most first:
OHSA, Product Safety, Clean Air, Clean Water, stuff like that.

3. You need to
first decide what point it is you're trying to sell. Is it benefits to the public or benefit to the corporation? While those are not mutually exclusive in the minds of the corporation, you first have to focus on their greatest benefit to appeal to them, then include additional or fringe benefits.

Cost savings in both the short and long term are always a good method to get the attention of the corporations/business. But an even better approach is highlighting investment that brings growth. The nice thing about 'growth' is you get to define it...dollars, market share, goodwill, etc.

Companies are constantly looking for ways to cut costs for the bottom line. But, in my experience, they're more than happy to look at 'investing' when you can successfully associate positive growth.

4. Oh, I think you misunderstood me.
I am trying to write this so I can hand it out to voters so they will vote for me. I am trying to show why we need regulation and how it benefits them.

5. Not to be a dick
but I will be. If you have to give it to voters so they will vote for you, you should understand the positions your taking yourself.

Just because GW does it, doesn't mean you can.

say it better if I had some advice.

7. Oh! Gotcha!!!
That's easy then! Just show documentation how the Bush administration has not been enforcing existing laws. Pick 10 different documented cases relative to issues of your state constituent's most important issues and how the administration failed to enforce (while your opponent voted in favor to do so). I see from your site he's voted 94% of the time with Bush. Use it. There's a record to go after.

Just stick to those 10 cases. Make them human. Make them the neighbor on their street. Get a testimonial, if possible.

I would avoid making a case for 'more' regulation...just enforcing the existing regulation. Make the case that by not enforcing existing regulations, they are hurting you (your constituents) and use the cases to back it up.

Good luck!!! :)

8. YES!
Thanks! I could not figure out how to frame this stuff in writing. Actually considering this has Scottsdale...dishonest corporate accounting would be a great one! Thank you so much!

9. You're welcome!
If the ole marketing/sales background helps a Dem to win, then all the better. Even though I'm unemployed, I just can't seem to get that stuff out of my blood.

Remember, stay focused. It's yours to win!
