Bob Barr wants to open more files on Clinton impeachment hearings. WHY?
I don't understand why the Republicans keep harping on Clinton? Do they think that someway he (Clinton) could cause Democrats to lose the Presidency - even now? It just does not make sense> I know that it is all politically motivated, but I can't figure out HOW the Republicans think it will help them.

1. Bob Barr is in love with Clinton
It's got to be a closet-self-hating-gay obsession with him. He should have his head examined.

4. It was Bob Barr's shining hour
he's like the guy who can't let his adolescent high school years fade away, the guy who keeps organizing the reunions to commemorate his idiocy

7. for what it's worth
I have seen many commentary shows over the last year or two where many people have said the repukes wont stop going after Clinton until they are sure his place in history is destroyed.

Repukes have lived a life of envy and disdain for Clinton because he handily defeated two of there more powerful people within the party. They also can't come to grips with Clinton creating what has been thought to be the greatest economic growth and prosperity in American history.

Jealousy is a terrible thing to live by and it's always just a matter of time before people self destruct in the process. Just look at what is about to happen to the repukes in November. Bob Novak said himself that if the repukes lose this election , they will "implode'.

16. Hey!!!!!
Reagan was responsible for that growth and prosperity and don't you forget it. Clinton just happened to be President when Ronnie's policies finally kicked in. Don't try to rewrite history you flag burning, baby killing, welfare loving commie! ;)
<unbelievably heavy sarcasm off>

17. Thanks for all the answers. It never dawned on me that it was a personal
thing with Barr. His wanting to live past glories makes sense.

About the Republican Party imploding. That is the best news I've heard lately. It will be good for our country, because they will not run the Bush type of person again - one who wants to mix church and state. If they win now, they will run the Bush type over and over and we will finally be like some of the Arab countries - forced religion.

Again, thank you for your post. It gives me hope for America's future.

20. Novak explained a little further
He said the majority of repukes want to throw the far right religious fruit cakes out. We are talking the likes of Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson etc. They have a hard time with the staunch NEO conservative element also.

Repukes are paper lions. They try with all their energy to project a picture of strong will and confidence , a united inseparable group. What they are in fact are a party who have only recently started winning and taking over the majority thru lying, cheating and stealing...ex: 2000 election, electronic voting machines, redistricting.

They are inherently weak at their very core!

8. Clinton made Barr
Without Clinton Barr would be another do-nothing rep that no one would have ever heard about. He became a hero to the wacky right and got his face on every TV show. Now he is that nobody with nothing to do who is falling back on his only gravy train.

12. My thoughts exactly !
He remembers those days as his good old days ,when FOX would ask him to appear ,with the other talking heads .I think we need to let Larry Flint in on this and perhaps he can do a rehash on Barr's past actions that show what a lying scum he is, and how he has no business ? others morals or actions !

25. He sided with the ACLU on the Patriot Act
Barr is completely against it. I almost gained a little respect for him, then I found out that he's still so obsessed about Clinton that he was writing a smear book about him.

Bob Barr is a pathetic has-been loser. He can go cheney himself.

13. A possibility
Personally, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both Clintons taking at least advisory positions in Kerry's administration. The Reps are probably having nightmares about the same thing.

They want to make Kerry (and all dems) look guilty by association. This will also help Barr sell more books.

23. Calling Larry Klayman...
Isn't it time to get out the Indian, Construction Worker and Sailor costumes for a reunion...they can reprise their greatest hits..."Blue D-N-A" and gyrate to the Starr report.

Sorry, statue of limitations on losers on lost causes ran out when Renquihst said "Sine Dai".

Actually Barr can sound somewhat human when he speaks out on the patriot act. He's no kool-aid drinker for the regime anymore...one of those Gingrich Repugnicans who got hosed out the door...and into the ACLU!

29. For people like them sex is more evil than killing
I realised this watching a movie with a friend who is a fundy. She would cover her eyes with her hands when people kissed longer than a second but didn't cover her eyes for the shooting, explosions and other violence.
