What is the 'Bush appointed presidental prayer team'?
I was just reading this article on singers and politics here ( http://www.tennessean.com/local/archives/04/08/55927708.shtml?Element_ID=55927708 ) and was surprised by this quote

Contemporary Christian artist Rebecca St. James is part of a Bush-appointed presidential prayer team.

I thought I was pretty informed but I don't remember reading about an official presidental prayer team selected by bush himself. Can someone give me more info?

1. After the GOP convention,
they'll be changing their name to "The Bush Appointed Hasn't-Got-A-Prayer Team."

3. Looks like she is as delusional as her hero
He imagines he was appointed by a higher power; she pretends she was appointed by a government official. In reality, she's guilty of false pride - how un-Christian!

http://www.disinfopedia.org/wiki.phtml?title=Presidential_Prayer_Team

references a Snopes article saying these people appointed themselves.

The disclaimer she's hoping on-one will read:
"NOT A GOVERNMENTAL AGENCY:
The Presidential Prayer Team is a spiritual movement of the American people which is not affiliated with any political party or official. It gains no direction or support, official or unofficial, from the current administration, from any agency of the government or from any political party, so that it may be free and unencumbered to equally serve the prayer needs of all current and future leaders of our great nation."

Why do I have the feeling they won't try quite so hard after Kerry is elected?

6. I agree they probably won't be so enthused with Kerry as President
I wonder if they will disband or reform to try to pray someone like bush into the whitehouse.

7. They will pray for Kerry to change his direction
Or, instead of praying for the president, they'll pray for the entire country to survive these horrible liberal times.

I'm not a huge christian music fan, but from what I've heard of Rebecca St. James' singing, she does have a good voice.

5. I Saw The Website and this sickened me...
The Almighty God has blessed our land in many ways. He has given our people stout hearts and strong arms with which to strike mighty blows for freedom and truth. He has given to our country a faith which has become the hope of all peoples in an anguished world. So we pray to Him now for the vision to see our way clearly-to see the way that leads to a better life for ourselves and for all our fellow men—to the achievement of His will to peace on earth.
--Franklin D. Roosevelt
