Manufacturing sector on the upswing?

Sorry, I don't have all the links handy, but back in February there was talk about making burger-flipping a manufacturing job.

Then a couple of weeks ago, there was a news item about the manufacturing sector going up better than expected. I found the item on Yahoo and asked on the message board if anyone knew if burger-flipping was part of the uptick, and all I got were some replies that suggested I was just trying to cause trouble.

I've only just been able to start posting on DU and so my question is not very timely. Still, I'm really curious if anyone knows if the report was padded with the toil and tears of the kids at McDonalds.
