10. It takes three years to read
the Bible, one chapter a day.
To read the Bible 12 times at that rate would take 36 years.

Silly rabbit.

It's funny how W seems to not understand the NEW TESTAMENT very well considering his awesome familiarity with the bible.

Oh, he meant the 'Scofield Bible'. Now it makes sense.

16. Total BULL!
If anyone can recall life before 9/11, Bush was criticized for his daily schedule, and it went as follows:

Wake up.
Eat.
Work out
Eat.
Play video games.
Nap.
Meeting or two.
Dinner
Bed.

He did NOT read the bible every day.. he freakin' played video games and worked out.. Rove and his minions decided that Bush would be more popular, after 9/11, if he played the religion card. He's a fake. No one, said to be that religious, would do and say the things he has.

35. He really played video games?
There's a site that bought him a PS2 before the war with the following letter. Unfortunately their campaign didn't work.

Dear Mr. President:
I represent a small consortium of voters who are deeply concerned over your proposed {or, if appropriate, ongoing} military action in Iraq. Given the amount of public speech and political rhetoric you have devoted to this issue in past months, it seems to us as though you are more interested in playing commando than in fighting an actual war with actual human casualties.

Enclosed with this letter, we have sent you some small gifts: one PlayStation 2 game console, one copy each of SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs and Conflict: Desert Storm, a memory card and an extra controller for Mr. Cheney's use. We ask that you accept these gifts and use them, rather than the lives of Iraqi civilians and our U.S. servicemen, to fulfill any militaristic fantasies.

Respectfully,

Mikel Reparaz
Chairman
Buy Bush a PlayStation 2 Campaign

24. He doesn't read , period,end of story

He has severe learning disabilities.

Has any reporter ever really challenged him on his so called knowledge of the bible?

Anyone who hides behind the Lord like he does should be honest with the American people. He is not honest.

Not only does he not read,he can't remember anything unless his ear plug is up high.

The Bible Scholars that I know have vivid recall and can speak with ease on any verse at any time. They can paint a picture of John the Baptist as if John was a dear uncle.

The Chimp can not even recall the name of the prison in Iraq!

27. New Testament, maybe
A lot of folks find the New Testament inspiring, especially Christians, and it's fairly short and to-the-point. Some would say it's the important part anyway.

Old Testament? Hell, you'd have to pay me to read all of it more than twice, and I grew up Jewish! The creation story alone (both of them) is enough to make me want to rip my eyes out, because so many people believe it happened just like that. Then we get the begats, which I could care less about, and the vengeful-yet-loving god smashing cities and turning people into salt like an omnipotent 3-year-old, the ludicrous flood story, Abraham plotting to murder his kid because "the voice of God spoke unto him" (dumbest reason to do anything IMHO), plagues of locusts and frogs, and the Great Leader making the Israelites wander around in the desert for 40 years. WTF? It's not all that big a place, you could probably make it to somewhere pretty nice and settle down if you just walked in one direction for even 10 years, but I guess Moses had 'em going in circles. Even Odysseus didn't have it that bad when Poseidon got all pissed at him, Yahweh must really have it in for his Chosen People.

Some of the genocidal behavior of the various tribal societies is somewhat interesting to me, in a clinical "evaluate the cultural psychosis" kind of way, but damn... what a bunch of fruitcakes! And religious leaders want to claim that the Bible is a foundation for morality? Give me a freakin' break! Anyone who looks to those guys for positive ethical role models is going to end up beating his wife because the Good Lord told him to do it.

And of course we have the funniest sections of all, the ones where Moses gets really bored and starts making up laws. Naturally everyone takes him very seriously, because he's so awesome at leading that they've only had to fart around in a hostile wasteland for a generation or two. So every morning he comes out of the tent and tells them the most absurd crap, and they make a lifestyle out of it.

Moses was the Martha Stewart of antiquity, mixed with a bit of Freddy Kruger and Joseph Stalin. Wish they'd broken the mold...

Every once in a while, something interesting happens, like a wacky sexual encounter coming out of the blue in the middle of a psalm, but it's about 99% droll self-righteous racist propaganda. If I had to read it 12 times, I'd probably take a drill to my brain just to let the bullshit out.

that swiftly never reached the decision making stage.

That said, I really don't think thatreading the Bible makes you a good Christian. To be a good Christian, you need to act like one.

Let's start with " Do unto others.."

Let's stop right there with GW
