The Project for the OLD American Century (www.oldamericancentury.org) is a non-profit grass-roots organization that strives to protect and strengthen our democracy through disseminating truthful and unbiased independent news stories untainted by corporate ownership.

The Project was founded in 2002 in response to a rigged election, reduced civil liberties, a high-jacking of our domestic and foreign policies by the energy/defense industries, and a compliant corporate media that refused to make these problems prominent in our national consciousness. All while claiming the evils of a non-existent "liberal media". Our country had been taken over in a peaceful coup by the energy and defense industries and the American Media barely raised a peep.

Our country had suffered a horrendous terrorist attack on a national landmark and our "leader" (assuming power in a disputed election) used the tragedy to rally the country under the guise of patriotism to begin an agenda of invading small third world nations and securing their natural resources. New laws were enacted that turned our once free nation into a potential police-state. Dissenters were demonized as unpatriotic and patriotism was lost to militant nationalism and jingoism. Liberals (the folks who brought you the labor movement, civil rights movement, free speech movement, equal rights movement, etc) were slandered and marginalized and denied a voice on most mainstream television news or talk radio. Our military budget accounted for 50% of the entire world's defense budget. We were spending more on military hardware than the next 27 countries combined. Our government flouted international law and began a process of pre-emptive strikes against any potential enemy it pleased. We had awoken to 1930's Germany.

We recognized some of the names of people being appointed to cabinet positions as convicted felons from previous republican administrations. We did a little research on those names. We discovered something sinister. The same group of corrupt CEO's had been pulling the strings behind the republican party for more than a decade. These people were a part of a group. A group called the Project for a New American Century. I remembered the "New World Order" and it's third reich odor from the 1980's. I read their website. These people outline quite clearly their plan to secure the resources of the middle east and use the region as a theatre of operations in their plan to secure the United States as the ruling nation of the world for the next one hundred years.
