"independent" caller on CSPAN just now.. dont you wish you can just
scream thru the tv at them YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT...
he just said about those 7 minutes that bush sat in the class room "all that was told to him was that a small plane flew into the building he didnt know that america was under attack"

hmm....
he KNEW that a plane already hit one building and he WAS told 'AMERICA IS UNDER ATTACK"
so everything that caller said was false!
those two listening to him KNOW what was said.. why didnt either correct what he said... because now people who dont truely know what was said will believe that man! :grr:

1. You need to understand something about that mindset.
They will believe anything - literally ANYTHING - rather than admit their brave leader is anything but god's gift to America.

It would have been nice if the two "hosts" had corrected his errors, but realize that it wouldn't have changed his mind, nor anyone else's who is a hardcore * supporter.

5. do CSPAN hosts
ever correct callers?

It just seems that they assume that 7 out of 10 calls will be from looney nutcases and its better just to let them rant than get into a argument with them.

12. I tried to call in after that idot was on
I tried to call in to say that C-Span has a duty, in my opnion, to cut off callers who call for violence agains anyone else. He was saying string up Clintonl, string up Sandy Berger, string up Richard Clark. This man was advocating murder, make no mistake about that. I thought threats against a President, even an ex-President, were illegal and not a 5th amendment right - this man was calling for killing.

Didn't get through. I've never got through. Probably for the best, I get hot.

Thom

3. Doesn't hold a candle to the guy I just heard...
"Bush has done everything humanly possible....Clinton should be hung up....read the report - make your own dicision..."

What report did he read? For crying out loud, how dumb and scary can you get?

11. I heard that guy
He started off by saying no one should criticize President Bush and then literally said string up Clinton, Berger, Freeh, and went on and on. No criticism of Bush but essentially kill all those before him --- okay, really rational.

6. personally, I'm loving her hypocrisy.
So lets get this straight - all the OTHER people who lost family members on 9/11 are "the rockstars of grief" and awful partisans, yet she isn't? The hell?

7. My guess is they know they're Republicans.
They just think their arguments will carry more weight if they attempt to appear to be 'non-partisan' by saying they're not Republicans. Claiming to be 'independent' has long been a way for Republicans to attempt to make people think they actually think about it, but in many cases -- at least here where I come from -- it just means they think it's a stronger position from which to argue for their conservative ideals.

Note -- this may differ elsewhere, but most people in SW Ohio who call themselves independent voters are really Republicans. Your mileage may vary.

10. Best Call From A Republican
I am a soldier and I cannot for the life of me figure out why we would remove troops from South Korea, Japan, Asia and Europe. North Korea has nuclear weapons now, we are making China more economically strong (this statement about China is an excellent and understated perspective in my view) - and then we send a message to both by leaving the area - why would we do that?
