I'm a southerner pissed

On a thread from last night, someone was bitching about Alabama and Mississippi. The quote below comes from that thread. The quote is absurd on its face -- preaching tolerance, yet taunting the South as behind "the rest of the civilized world..."

"Until the south catches up to the rest of the civilized world on equality and tolerance, I will not pander for southern votes. Cheney 'em."

Well, I'm here to inform you that Alabama has, per-capita, the largest number of African-American elected officials of any state in the entire United States Of America.

And I've had it up to here (pointing to my neck) with the vitriolic, hateful posts, the outright bigotry of supposed liberals and progressives who claim that they are inclusive and open-minded. You (and you know who you are) are no better than the Limbaughs and Hannity's of this world. You preach hatred and divisiveness just like your role-models on the right. And you should be ashamed of yourselves. But I won't hold my breath for that to happen. Bigot's minds just don't allow for self-examination, but that is what you sorely need.

So to sum up, you anti-South bigots can kiss my fat, white, progressive ass.
