1. Bush is pretty unpopular himself in CA
That's the irony on the whole thing. I hope Dems don't miss the golden opportunity to bash Bush's head in with the things the CA GOP are saying about Davis.

This is partly why I hope he loses the Recall. Bustemante will win it anyway.

2. Bush will never carry CA
We are solidly Dem here. The repugs have a few counties but we'll never vote Bush. It looks more and more likely that this fraudulent recall will fail.

4. If you refer to sigs on the recall petitions,
The recall process call for just five percent of the total voters in the previous election. It is not a very democratic(small 'd') process. It is in fact a good example of the tyranny of the minority.

5. If Davis survives the recall,
he is still not going to be popular. There are many of us who held our nose to vote for him in the last election, and will hold our nose while voting against the recall. Voting to deny repubs the opportunity to take over the state won't change the way people view Davis. It also doesn't make * look any better. In reality, if Davis survives, it will be because enough people recognized the Wilson/deregulation/bush/enron connections to our energy/budget problems, and that sure won't get * the vote here.
