17. Sounds like a lot of questions that would result in a close contest
like 51-49, and can then be substituted with bush* or Kerry questions to fit the results.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean I'm not being followed!

5. I thought the poll was dumb too.
What does astrological sign have to do with anything? Both my husband and his father are Aries but my husband is totally a libral democrat and my f-i-l is a conservate republican.

It was a stupid poll.

3. When he asked for my sign
I thought he was trying to pick me up... But apparently he's asking everyone that question. (Kerry leads with Cancers, but Scorpios prefer Bush?) I couldn't figure out where he's going with some of the questions.

6. What Kind of Face Soap You Like
And if you like country music. And what kind of tree you'd be.

The toughest question for me, by far, was this one:

Would you prefer a presidential candidate who was all brains and no heart, or a presidential candidate who was all heart and no brains?

The way I figure it, Kerry's got both, and Bush has neither. If I say all brains (as opposed to clueless Bush), then I'm voting for a brilliant but heartless bastard. If I say all heart (as opposed to cruel Bush), then I'm voting for a bleeding-heart cretin.

Can't win with that question.

Pierre Trudeau? Winston Churchill, hell even FDR, maybe.

11. psychographics...
looked to me like he is trying to ascertain psychographic characteristics and correlate them with political preference. A common tactic in marketing research but you don't see it in polling because telephone polling has to be so quick. Internet polling can take longer so Zogby is "stepping out" a bit.

I think his technique should be refined a bit. Asking men about their preference of revlon vs. avon or whatever makes little sense, but perhaps he's going to throw out all the male answers.

let's see what he comes up with results-wise before we dismiss out-of-hand. i like what zogby is doing in general and he is smart to pioneer internet polling. telephone polling is near death as a reliable technique due to the rise of cellphones.

13. They're trying to ascertain to what degree you are susceptible......
......to advertising and fads and how it translates to your choice in leadership. Are you willing to spend $3.00 on a cup of coffee at Starbucks because it's the 'in' thing to do rather than spend 50 cents at Dunkin' Donuts or $2.00 a pint for ice cream from a company because of the name or their social consciousness. It will be interesting to see how they present their findings, that is if they choose to make them public at all. :)

16. I started to complete this thing and decided that
it was probably fake. Couldn't be real with all those stupid questions. Coke, Pepsi and Astrological sign was enough. I didn't want to continue until it got to the part about what is your mother's maiden name and your bank account password.

19. Thought the 3 most interesting questions were:
"How likely do you think that the 2004 presidential election outcome could be disputed?"

"How easy or difficult would it be for our country to overcome a disputed election so that whoever is declared the winner can govern effectively?"

"If the winner in the 2004 presidental election is elected by a "razor-thin" margin, how willing would you be to support the new president if he is not the candidate you voted for?"

(These were right before 67% complete)

Maybe Zogby is anticipating problems?

20. I took it too
and from the questions is looks like they want a breakdown of the "regular" guys verses the starbuck sipping liberals and which candidate each group supports. Thats what i got from it.

23. Something along those lines...
but most of the questions did not have sufficient answer choices. For example, I don't buy coffee at Starbucks or Dunkin' Donuts. And I don't shop at WalMart or JC Penney. I don't really use any of the major cosmetic brands they listed, etc. It was pretty silly.

25. I have NO clue!
I took the poll yesterday and scratched my head the whole time. The questions were truly bizarre! I can't wait to see the results of THAT one.

What kind of soft drink I drink? What kind of makeup I use? Where I sop...Walmart or JCPenney? What coloring I use? Where I prefer to buy my jewelry?

Beats the hell out of me where he's going with that poll!
