2. National Security?
The WH used national security as the reason for lying to us. Huh?

5. Well, they needed to open the stock market - that's the ticket!
Every time you hear a candidate (always GOP) saying: "Vote for me! I am a businessman, not a politician" remind them of this particular business decision!

6. The 9/11 air in NY was a Weapon Of Mass Destruction
and George Bush and his administration had no problems with Americans dying or getting sick from inhaling that air. The man is a sick joke on the United States and anyone who votes for him is un-American.

7. I'm experiencing "Lying Fatigue Syndrome"
where you just get so worn out by Bush's lies that when you learn of another you just give a heavy sigh and go on about your day.

My brother says it's easy to tell when the shrub is lying. It's when he opens his mouth. This from a Clinton hater, rightwinger. He now says that Clinton is one of only a couple of people who is smart enough to get us out of this mess. Truly odd to hear him now, when only three short years ago, he was spouting the right wing lines. I can tell you this, though. I have several military brothers. All, it seems, would vote for Wesley Clark. I don't know whether to shout for joy that so many like Clark, or to be slightly frightened. Something about his "candidacy" is just too pat. I'm still trying to figure him out.

Edited for spelling

12. The Clinton style of leadership and problem solving, based on the
Socratic method of learning which promotes discussion, input and disagreement, is the only way to attack problems as complex as how to handle the poor air quality around ground zero.

To some, having discussions and banter back and forth between aides and advisors, is viewed as a sign of weakness or, in the political term, waffling. This is the style of leadership and problem solving Clinton was exposed to at Harvard and Oxford and that conservatives love to deride as pointy headed librul thinkin'.

While GW was drinkin' and leading the cheer leading squad, Bill and Hillary were learning how to grow through debate. While GW's mind was closing in on his own very petty and immature view of the world expressed daily by his my way or the highway approach to leadership, Clinton became sure of his intelligence and knew excellence was only attainable by surrounding yourself with excellent people who had an active part in the process of problem solving.

Wesley Clark had that same exposure at Oxford and I think he will bring that type of approach to the White House.

Another point. How many members of the Bush election team, the pioneers or rangers or what ever comic book terminology used by Rove to designate big donor, were informed about the danger and stayed away from Wall Street and NYC until they were given the all clear?

Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 02:00 AM by KT2000
in their on-line version of Sunday's paper. That is pretty amazing. By "this" I mean the story of the White House and EPA.

10. I can't say--I'm having trouble breathing
Seriously, of course it's disgusting. But almost all NYCers knew the White House was full of crap on this one. If only the media would run with it...
