Check this quote from the THIEF Pat Boone ..

Pat Boone comes out in support of Bush
http://releases.usnewswire.com/GetRelease.asp?id=103-08132004

Here is a quote of Pat Boone from the end of the article ...

"You think God gave me 'Ain't That a Shame' to sing and 'Tutti Frutti?' Yes, I do."

No asshole, it wasn’t God.. you were 'given' Tutti Frutti when you stole it from Little Richard.

This guys entire career is a fraud and he's a thief.

Then says that it was 'Gods will' for him to lie and steal ...

Hell, no wonder he's a George Bush fan.. they are just alike.

2. He was THE pioneer in ripping off musicians

Many people have heard of all the musicians that were ripped off. Thousands of bands, including the Rolling Stones, Credence Clearwater and many more big bands had their work stolen, only to watch slime bags get rich off their work.

Pat Boone was THE consummate pioneer for the record industry stealing material and getting rich off it.

Then the asshole has the audacity to claim it was 'Gods will' is too much. Scum!

If an aid reads that quote to Bush.. Boone will probably get a personal meet with him at the convention.

4. He always claims that he "saved" rock and roll
by making black music more "palatable" to white parents. Doesn't he see what that statement says about 50's society? That's a total admission that America was a racist country.

They're about the same age, I think.
Imagine the differences in upbringing.

Suffice it to say, it has generated quite a discussion over there!

I think this post, from a music industry lawyer who specializes in artists' rights, sums up Mr. White Bucks the best:

From our 21st century perspective, in terms of influence, it can be said that Boone spawned the Teen Idols, although I give Ricky Nelson an even more important role in that development. That branch of pop music terminated abruptly as a viable genre with the British Invasion, which means it lasted, at best, less than ten years. We have yet to see a significant revival of the style, let alone any growth, in the intervening four decades. It is a dead branch in the history of music. I think it would be relatively easy to name a
couple dozen artists from Boone's commercial heyday who had, in the longer view, far more influence.

Boone ranked second to Elvis in terms of being a cultural icon of the era, but not on the basis of anything innovative in his music. He was the "anti-Elvis," the Thermidorian Reaction to the revolution of rock and roll. It was primarily a marketing battle. In terms of music, I think you will agree it was never a close call.

Taken strictly as a '50s recording artist, Boone put out some pleasant pop records, and some less-than-pleasant attempts at rock and roll. That's about it. Would the general course of pop music in the last half of the 20th century be different if there had not been a Pat Boone? I don't think so.

10. Can you imagine the insult to Little Richard when he heard Boones version?
Boone wasn't white, he was clear. And so fucking square it must have damn near killed Little Richard.

12. From all accounts, Little Richard was livid when he first heard Boone.
Half a century later, though, Richard has forgiven and forgotten!
