Kerry's first chance to prove he's better on National Security than Bush.
The reason for 9/11 and the reason for the Iraq War was that Bush didn't want an independent CIA and controlled the information. Under Goss, America will be in danger from right-wing terrorist attacks and from future unnecessary wars before November 2nd. If confirmed, Goss will guarantee a Bush victory in November. Goss's confirmation vote is the election that will determine the election.

If Kerry can lead the fillibuster against Goss, he will prove that he's a leader when it comes to national security. If he fails to lead the fillibuster, he will show that he is more concerned with playing nice with Bush than with protecting the lives of everyone in our country.

Kerry can change him out for an truly independent director after he is elected as he will be the next elected president since Gore and Clinton.

2. I don't agree. Kerry has no time to lead a filibuster in the next
three months. His best bet is to stick to the campaign and even if he is confirmed, and that isn't a sure thing, he will be otta here in Jan.
