Thoughts on fun-dies

The fundamentalists "love" of others they don't like or dissagree with is ultimately selfish.
If you hear fuighting words from the fundi christian's mouth it's because they have accepted etrenal torment for a finite life as an act of GOOD.They don't see evil in what they say so they don't see how taking rights away is evil.Funamentalist Christians are true MORAL RELATIVISTS,they have convinced themselves they love everyone(which is impoossible),and convinced as they are it does bot make thier god able to turn hate into love, evil into good.No a fundie does that struggling with the catch 22 of what thier god is a monster sadist that appears as a saint.Until you "know him"get honest about what you are reading in that bible than and he is just an abomination invented by controlling people and the roman state..A fundie doesen't trust in thier own god to "save" themselves, or anyone else, they need the state to,because the bible can't convince everyoneto go along.. So because everyone is not willing to be a moral relatavist and overlook bad things christians call good things, like hell, god making satan to torment people even though he is allegedly all good and all powerful and knows everything, the book of joshua and original sin and call that good.they try to earn brownie poibts by imitating this jealous vengeful god so,they want laws imposed and to lord it over us to help the church force others in line with thier hegemony &social engieering agendas so the christians will get thier'rewards'and more perks. This is called a manipulative game of domination, hence dominionism,or kingdom now.
Christian fundamentalists are moral relativists in the truest sense,
They should not be trusted to know what morality is,because obviously they call evil good. And the church has a lot of bad spiritual fruits t overlooks everyime it tries to be a social engineer..

2. It kind of reminds me of what Goerthe once said about Napoleon
Napoleon wanted VIRTUE, but she was not to be had

he got power instead.

This is one of the reasons ( among many ) why I am not a Christian.
There are way too many contradictions in using a state to bolster a religeon.
then it becomes organized crime. We'd have Inquisitions and Ashcroft could style himself as a new kind of Torquemada.

We owe a debt of gratidude to John Adams for the doctrine of a separation of Church and State.

And this is a key thing that keeps fundies at bay - and saves us from being a theocracy.

3. Where's Jesus?
If you ever to listen to just what scriptures the fundies quote, it's almost never Jesus's words, but Saul of Tarsus his persecutor. Saul never quotes the words of Jesus either--just holds up the Cross. Jesus's message of service to your fellow man as being the same thing as the worship of God, the commandment to pray in secret, and that ever-annoying 'turn the other cheek' thing--No, it's all-Saul all the time--except of course when they go back to Leviticus.
When they talk about works, they quote Saul: 'justification by faith', which they interpret to mean all that matters is belonging to the club. Tell them the story of the Good Samaritan and they won't know what the Hell you're talking about. Tell them about Jesus eating with the publicans and sinners, and they'll quote Revelation at you.
These are Christians for whom the actual words of Christ are as sounding brass, because they have not charity.
Verily I say unto you, they have their reward.

4. Was Saul/Paul DELIBERATELY trying to subvert Christianity?
I sometimes think so, when I read the things attributed to Saul/Paul.

What better revenge than to twist the future development of Christianity by taking it almost directly AWAY from the concepts taught by its founder? Maybe once Saul found out the early Christian cult was too widespread to stamp out with the usual ironfist tactics, he changed his name to Paul and began his campaign to subvert the church of Jesus from within?

So, Saul/Paul was history's first Karl Rove?:freak:
