Question for DUers who visit FR...
Do you ever see "debunking" requests over there? Like, "Help me debunk this LW crap my BIL sent me"? Or, "My cousin is on the fence, but admires Kerry's war valor... how should I respond"?

If you DO see it/them, do they allow the FRers to post the LW talking points?

Just wondering, and thanks in advance.

1. No they don't allow any mention of any disagreement with the freeper line
let alone discussion.

They even delete polls and news articles that don't agree.

2. What I have seen over there
is that they post a left-leaning article or something and put (Barf Alert) after the title. then they proceed to counter it with their own dribble. Sometimes, someone won't put the barf alert thing and will be considered a traitor and everyone will call for the poster's ousting...

Gee, do you think I spend way too much time over there? Well, it's a good place to find out what the idiots are thinking...

4. LOL, I remember going on that forum - once - and was wondering
why on some of the questionable articles they put barf alert, so when I posted my article I put barf alert on mine too. They kept the article up though. I never knew why they did this until now. LOL, I am now banned though. I cried for two minutes before I went to bed that night.

3. In my experience, FR is for observation, not participation.
It's a place to learn how the enemy thinks. Know thine enemy.

Dissent on many issues there is not well tolerated. With the exception of the Drug War and some Libertarian-leaning issues, there's not much discussion going on there; just a lot of piling-on.

5. Very, very seldom.
I think their mods must delete them pretty fast.

I'm beginning to think DU should start a separate 'Help me debunk this' forum. That way, GD wouldn't be so cluttered up with fake DU'ers needing 'help'. And people who actually do want help can more easily flip through debunked crap.

9. I got kicked off in 5 minutes and I just mildly disagreed with an article.
I wasn't being disruptive at all.

10. I don't post much on the web...
but i do read a lot of sites. I've seen a few such threads in freeper land but they're not worth clicking on. They always turn into bashing the poster and not much else. That's no way to get info out to lurkers like me. Bah!
