MTP is little more than a forum to plug your new book these days.
Today on Meet the Press, here's Dennis Hastert and his rhetoric on how liberal Barack Obama is and how Kerry is an out of touch senator, and, oh, yes, I've got a book out now.

Then, it's Maureen Dowd and William Safire. Each of them had to get a plug in on their new books.

On Safire, can you say "double standard." First, he said the Swiftboat ads against Kerry are OK because Kerry opened himself up for criticism by touting his military record at the convention. Then, he says that Teresa Heinz Kerry was out of line for telling the tabloid flunkie to "shove it" and her "un American" comments at the convention.

What happened to having truth to what you say, Mr. Safire? The Swiftboat spokespersons have all been debunked. The ad has been exposed for what it is--a lying smear campaign to illegitimize Kerry's military record. THK's comments are subject to opinion, but they're not outright lies.

Then, Safire predicted that Bush would win by a large margin. We shall see.
