Just got home from a Welcome Home party for Jimmy (one of our soldiers
He is O,U,T, ... I had misunderstood his Mom last week.. I thought he had a bit more to go, but somehow, he managed to get out for good..

The first thing he did when he got home was to make them take the ARMY bumperstickers off the family cars..

His sister said that when he came home, he would not even hug anyone for the first day or so.. and every little noise spooked him..

He thanks you all who sent packages to them in Iraq, and promised to get me some new names and APOs ...He said that having those packages arriving for them, made it bearable..

A few of his unit are apparently going to Afghanistan after all..

He did not come out and say it, but I think their abrupt change of orders for Iraq, part II were cancelled due to the "handover"..

A guy I met at the party is on his way to Iraq.. He's a 42 yr old father of 4...a cop.. His wife is extremely upset..He said he will also get addresses to us through his wife ..

So if any of you are still wanting to start the care package thing up again,. hold on for a while longer..

1. My son is going away to College. And sadness for the separation is
wounding my heart. BUT I GIVE THANKS TO GOD EVERY MINUTE because he is going to, hopefully, improve his future and contribute to peaceful society, and not to risk his life and kill other human beings in a war of choice.

I hope all these mothers' children, wifes' husbands, children's parents can survive the horror and come back to a normal life.

4. What an ordeal for him and his family. I am delighted he is home and
will wait for more soldiers to send things to. Hugs, honey.

6. The graying of is hair gives us just a hint of the tramua within his body,
mind, and spirit. It has to be unbearable I would think. Prayers and thoughts with him and all who are casualties of this illegal invasion. A casualty doesn't necessarily mean physical death. I believe it can be death of some facet of another being...there are many.

Thanks for the update!

8. So glad he got home safely.
Please let him know we truly appreciate his service and wish him the best.

My Marine son leaves for Iwakuni,Japan, in just over a week. He'll be gone for two years but at least it is not Iraq and since he's a network administrator attached to an air wing, he should be safe.

I feel so bad for the 42-year-old and his family!
