I hope folks are keeping an eye on *, because he don't look too good!
His performance yesterday at the Journalists of Color convention was downright scary. For the sake of all of us, I hope the doctor, that he doesn't see, is keeping an eye on him, and I hope he's giving him some of the drugs he doesn't take. The awkward emotional activity is textbook problematic. When he was trying to get the African-American representative to let everyone in on "their" joke, he was grasping for any semblance of comfort from the crowd, and his entire presentation reminded me of a frightened bully who senses the whole crowd is against him. I almost felt sorry for him, but like another DUer said, they were more "embarassed" for him.

I can't wait for the debates :bounce:

1. Kinda felt sorry for him, but then I started remembering the . . .
war in Iraq, he has all but forgotten Afghanistan, he ignores what is going on in the Sudan, and he sat there on 9/11 like a child, terrified, confused, and not knowing what to do. Then I got over feeling sorry for him and thought it was funny to say the least.

Like I could hardly believe it. The people did everything short of turning their backs! It wasn't kind of eerily wonderful.

30. This gutless bastard...I don't remember the woman convict's name
But, then-Governor Bush was asked what he thought the woman was thinking on the eve of her execution and Bush repportedlysaid: mimicking woman's voice "Please don't kill me, please don't kill me!"
in a laughing manner.
fuck Bush and his uncomfortable situations.

2. Like the other poster, I almost felt embarrassed
for him until the second panel Q&A when he nastily scolded Ray Suarez with his "let me finish let me finish!" bit. My four-year-old nephew has better manners and more emotional maturity than Bush.

3. and the worst is yet to come.
I keep waiting for a supressed spark of realization of who he has become to emerge.
The best thing the GOP can do is keep him away from the spotlight - as the pressure increases. bring it on.

6. I was extremely surprised they let him do that convention
I thought they'd try to keep him in a box and maybe come up with a terror alert on the day of the cancelled debate!

I'll just bet we don't see him in any public setting like that till it's over.

16. True
Keeping this dolt on low profile would help the GOP, but then they've got no-one.
Notice how Powell, Condi, Rumsfailure, Asscroft etc. are all safely out of sight?
Only Ridge and Franks are on TV now.
Rove must be watching Q ratings.

19. Well the Chimp is all about myths anyway.
He's in the same position Stalin was. It will work if the Chimp stays hidden and the propaganda machine is allowed to churn out the images that play on the cultural obsessions of targeted groups, and not be interferred with, he's got a better chance of remaining the man of action, or the straithtforward person of integrity - in the imaginations of the Amerikan proletariate.

But god help him if he actually has to debate someone like Kerry.

7. Contrary to most posters here ...
... I didn't think that yesterday's speech by SmirkBoy was as hideous as everyone was making it out to be.

I never watch any of his stump speeches and only steeled myself to watch this one because of the wild reaction of DUers.

Other than the quiet reaction to his dreadful rambling and the loud applause given to the panelists (instead of him) Ñ it was just another day in Georgie's blithering nonsense. No worse, no better.

12. The thing that frightened me is that he doesn't know basic meanings
of important words--clearly, he had no idea what the word 'sovereignty' meant.

And he is allegedly the President of the US.

That is extremely f'ed up.

When he doesn't know the word, he just repeats it over and over

Yeah, that the ticket! Sovereign

My husband was watching, too. His mouth dropped open and stayed open. They he looked at me, smirked, and shook his head in disgust. I said "yep, that's OUR guy. THAT is what represents us to the world." Fabulous. November can't get here soon enough!

32. Defining "sovereign" by repeating it..
A friend of mine says that her daughter, who is in fourth grade, told her mom that it's a rule that when defining a word they're not allowed to use the word in the definition.

So, this is taught in elementary school. Maybe Dubya was absent that day.

14. Agreed, Tracer
My husband and I watched it at 9:00 PM last night in anticipation of the things we read here about it. We were disappointed.

Yeah, he talked like shit. He had no clue what the answer should be to most questions so he just made shit up as he went. He was more than rude to the panelists. But he's like that every day. I didn't see anything new or worse than any other public appearance.

13. Has there been any confirmation that Shrub has sh&t himself?
That seems to be the next logical step in his downward spiral. Granted, he did have trouble consuming snack foods and riding motorized vehicles. But how the quasi-mighty have fallen. Where is that proud, Napoleanic shrub we used to know, the one in the flight suit, thumbs up? Where is his swagger, so endearing to men everywhere whose puffed up egos result from paranoia about the size of their penises? Alas. BushCo better cross their fingers that the ballot boxes will work come Nov.

20. He deserved the treatment he got from that audience
He shouldn't be shocked by it, as we are not. If he had not (and still continues to do) hid from the American people these past 3+ years, he would have been subjected to the very same wherever he spoke. If he thinks that that audience isn't the norm, he is truly delusional. Guess he will find out just how much he is really "loved", by the same people he has refused an audience too since the day he was anointed, come Nov. 2. I can't wait for that day! :bounce:

21. He was acting that way
because he's now had years of pre-selected, fawning audiences. They (bush handlers) haven't done him ANY favors with that, because now, he virtually CANNOT go in front of non-preselected crowds.

Can you freaking IMAGINE if bush showed up somewhere in Ohio that was easily accessible to the public, well-publicized ahead of time, and open to whoever wanted to come?

Oh. My. God. It'd be a blood bath, metaphorically speaking.

He'd be laughed right off the stage. Eggs, anyone?

They are TRYING to ease him into some not so tightly selected audiences to try it out a bit, and it is going over like a lead balloon, as would be expected.

The best part about all of this is that he is going to get slaughtered in November. I believe it will be a CRUSHING defeat and he will be HUMILIATED in front of the entire world. I believe that once the CHIMP is gone the flood gates will open and people will come forward and the administration will be revealed as the most wretched, corrupt, dis-honest, lying, cheating, stealing, heartless, treasonous, murderous, in the history of this great country.
Many will see jail time.
Some may even be accused of being war criminals.

And they deserve every punishment that may come their way.

George W. Bush should be humiliated in the debates, lose the election in a landslide, be indicted for treason, convicted in a trial that disgraces him and his entire corrupt family, spend the rest of his life in prison; suffer a long, painful, excruciating death from natural causes, and then rot in the deepest reaches of hell for all eternity.

40. When he loses in November
I expect that Cheney will finish out his term for him.
Why?
Because sometime around midnight DC time, after he concedes the election, there will be an announcement that he has shot himself or has been taken to Walter Reed Hospital suffering from an overdose of prescription drugs.
After 2 November, providing he loses, we won't see him again, unless it's on an ambulance gurney. We'll get reports that he's doing well, but at an 'undisclosed location.'
And a bloody good thing too.
He is worthless crap.
