Want to lose your breakfast? CNN Chairman says CNN has bias
for the truth. "Parsons said he did not feel CNN was liberal, but instead has a bias for the truth. He conceded that journalists are often perceived as liberal because they tend to challenge the establishment."

Sorry if you experience extreme nausea.:puke:

1. So....the CIA desk that sits there in the newsroom with them. How does
he reconcile THAT with truth telling?

7. I doubt seriously if the CIA is telling CNN anything, much less having...
...a desk co-located with the CNN newsroom. CNN has become the official mouthpiece of the NeoCons. The last time I looked, the CIA and the NeoCons were completely at odds with each other over the Plame case.

10. CNN has been totally used by the military/intelligence psyops programs
Edited on Sat Aug-07-04 12:59 PM by soothsayer
There's some evidence that that's EXACTLY why it was founded. WHy do you think CNN always gets acces to military people and stuff? Cuz they run the stories they are told to run, that's why.

It was in the aftermath of 911 where the press mentioned the presence of a CIA desk in CNN. I was shocked, too, at the time.

On edit: ok, here's a place to start:

<snip>
"Of course, most of them are posing as reporters, editors, news anchors, analysts, producers, publishers, etc. The difference here is that these particular spooks were employed openly at CNN, without journalistic cover. As Major Thomas Collins, of the U.S. Army Information Service acknowledged:

"Psyops personnel, soldiers and officers, have been working in CNN's headquarters in Atlanta through our programme 'Training With Industry'. They worked as regular employees of CNN. Conceivably, they would have worked on stories during the Kosovo war. They helped in the production of new typa of news."(2)

<snip>

"The military CNN personnel belonged to the airmobile Fourth Psychological Operations Group, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. One of the main tasks of this group of almost 1200 soldiers and officers is to spread 'selected information'.

As the message below sez, the CIA folks 'intern' at CNN.

4. He was morphing into Clarence Thomas as he spoke..

...when he said he was Nelson Rockefeller's attorney I understood why. Did you see the gleam in his eye when he told that story?

5. True, journalists often do "challenge the establishment".
But CNN doesn't employ journalists.

6. Here's CNNs truth bias
"One clip showed Bush at a March rally in Orlando, Fla., standing at a lectern with several listeners behind him - among them, a boy in his early teens who could barely stay awake. While Bush spoke, the young man yawned, twisted his head and checked his watch.

Tuesday morning, CNN attempted to lighten its news mood by running the segment on its "CNN Live Today."

But then CNN host Daryn Kagan added: "We're being told by the White House that the kid, as funny as he was, was edited into that video, which would explain why the people around him weren't really reacting."

Later, during CNN's "Live From ...," anchor Kyra Phillips reran the tape but cautioned viewers: "We're told that the kid was there at that event, but not necessarily standing behind the president."

15. Parsons is a maxed-out Bush contributor according to...
fundrace.org. Surprisingly, the TimeWarner board is split just about down the middle between Bush and Kerry contributors.
