She's a military wife whose husband's commanding officer knows the guy is voting for Kerry, so the C.O. told him, "I'm going to make sure you're working on Election Day."

The same C.O. also told his men he would make sure that everyone on the base was registered to vote, because it was only due to the military vote that Bush won Florida, and Bush has to be re-elected.

Surely, that's illegal???

2. If he knows he's working
get an absentee ballot.

As for the legality, I think once elections are over and Kerry is in, this fella should make his CO's comments known up the chain of command...

5. She did say that her husband had already planned on voting absentee
just for the fact they live in Florida.

6. Of course it's illegal...
but try to prove it anywhere, especially in the military.

What I can't for the life of me understand, though, is why the military is so blatantly Bush.

If thye're that blind, how the hell do they ever win a awar?

8. I was in the AF and absentee ballots were mailed directly to you
from the state you registered in...they weren't handed out by the command.

9. The individual should go to the IG
that is totally illegal...besides immoral and the CO is stupid.
But in the meantime the man should get an absentee ballot and tell the co nothing.

10. I do not understand why in the hell the military folks like Bush...
he has cut their benefits, he has cut veterans' benefits, education, housing, pay. Bush has treated our soldiers like crap and they continue to support him. I have a friend in Iraq and I'm pretty sure he will vote for Bush. Why Why Why????

15. Because military types hate peace protestors...
... who are typically Democrats.

Look at how pissed they were at Kerry's (accurate and mis-represented)testimony. They take is personally.

14. Ask him if that’s the kind of Democracy troops die for?

Our troops are being told that they are fighting (and dying) to establish Democracy.

So when it comes to voting, this C O practices the 'my way or no way' form of Democracy??
