Why do I get pro-bush BS when I click on miserable failure?
It is glowing pro "w" White House fairy tale propaganda. What gives? I wrote an e-mail to the admin about this during the convention, and the response was that it was supposed to be helpful to us. Inquiring minds want to know.

google bomb. search for miserable failure; bush is the first result.

if a lot of sites link to Dubya's page with the term "miserable failure," google thinks people searching for miserable failure want to see that page too. thats how it helps... or at least makes us smile.

BBC: George W Bush has been Google bombed.

You don't know about those?

4. Not really. Someone tried to explain it to me but I don't get the point.
It seems that it just gives more potential exposure to the creep since it links to his propaganda, but if someone thinks that it helps, OK I just wish it led to a site that exposed his lies instead of advertising them.

5. Look at the bottom of this page...
... for an example of a Google bomb.

As to google bombing, to me the joke is how much authority googling is taking on. And if "miserable failure" gets you Bush, well, it must be true...

7. Good question.
I think the answer is that you're supposed to tell someone to Google for "miserable failure." Imagine their surprise when it takes them to Bush's biography.

A bit childish, maybe. Not sure why they didn't use white text in the link on every DU thread. Just being ornery, I guess.

8. I got that, but I guess it still doesn't make any sense to me. What is the
point of giving any extra hits to a Bush site? or leading anyone to his trash propaganda? I can see the amusement factor in the idea, but the pragmatist in me would like more bang for the buck. Why can't a google bomb direct someone to the ways in which Bush actually is a miserable failure, either a serious listing of his many failures or some clips of his misunderstatementses.

9. You make an excellent point.
After I posted my post, I realized you probably were referring to the "miserable failure" link in the first place. Duh (on my part).

It really is a joke, of course, and like the "morans" joke, it is an open question whom the joke is really on.

You make a good point. The "miserable failure" link should point to a list of "ways in which Bush actually is a miserable failure." That would be much better.
