His last speech today gives those backers of his the fits. Even Texans are
finding it difficult to defend Bush. He evades questions with distractive off the wall answers which turn out to be non answers.

Bush Backers are getting kinda pissed here. Starting to get turned off.

Many are considering heresy by going with NADER...the ultimate Irony....

3. Ya gotta love it
His handlers must have figured that he must go on stage and deliver his personal touch.

Thing is, his handlers don't make up the audience and not everyone goes gaga over the naked chimp.

Let's hope the chimp thinks he's doing great and demands more stage time!

4. There are many disillusioned Republicans out there.
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 09:57 PM by Cleita
I met a few last Saturday when I was precinct walking. I'm walking again tomorrow. Stay tuned. I'm sure after these speeches, there will be more disillusioned Republicans out there. Incidentally, the woman who is canvassing leader registered from Republican to Democrat to support Dennis Kucinich in the primaries. Now that is a switch! I suspect though that she was a RINO. She's much too liberal in her thinking to be a conservative.

14. I know a few also
This woman who works in the office next door to mine has always been a "My President right or wrong kind of Republican" told my boss (who hates Bush) that she isn't sure who she will vote for now. So I am thinking that the Kerry might have a bigger lead than the polls indicate.

Encourage Republicans to vote Nader or Libertarian or stay home. It is an easier sell than trying to make them switch.

If they stay home, it also helps the rest of the Democratic ticket.

I was positive that he would drop to almost nothing in the polls, but it didn't happen...people saw it, and liked?? it...thought he sounded like a regular guy...

Heck, that there President don't know nutin' about politics, he's just like me...YEAH BUSH!!

Sorry, ON THEORY I agree with you completely, but most people seem to think that having a beer with someone is more important than having a smart and wellinformed leader...I don't get it, I cant explain it...but it is the reality of the situation!

Bush renames 'war on terrorism
a href="http://www.news24.com/News24/World/News/0,,2-10-1462_1569423,00.html

---snip--

"We actually misnamed the 'war on terror.' It ought to be 'the struggle against ideological extremists who do not believe in free societies and who happen to use terror as a weapon to try to shake the conscience of the free world,'" he said in a speech.

=================

Next - Bush re-sloganizes his slogan. "..turned the corner and not going back" will be now known as "a 90 degree rotation to a point of perpendicularity and refusing to proceed to a 180 degree inversed direction..."

32. The debates are PRIME-TIME
IIRC, the coverage of the 9/11 committee was not shown during prime-time...and coverage was embedded during (from what I saw) the Nightly World News and such. In other words, sound bites.
With the debates, all networks will be covering it LIVE.
Bush is one fucked chimp.

38. Are you kidding? Bush will kill Kerry in the debates
Bush will win people over with his folksy plain talk and platitudes, while Kerry's long-winded fact-based answers will turn people off and make people feel he is an out of touch intellectual.

Gore was known as a master debater going in to the 2000 debates with Bush, as Gore had crushed Kemp & Perot previously. Bush's expectations were so low that when he didn't come across as Jack Nicholson at the end of the Shining, he was declared the winner.

(and, yes, I know Gore beat Bush on substance, but image is everything!)

Put him in front of the freshly energized, pressured and campaign-headline motivated media, and he crumbles like a Girl Scout Cookie.

Avoid the newly-scrutinizing media entirely, and earn their wrath in response to your general snub.

Oh, bring on the debates, indeed!
