Michael Moore is a 'terrorist'
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 01:10 PM by ck4829
Some RW Maniacs have claimed that Michael Moore is a terrorist. I wonder if that means people who use facts and exercise their right with the 1st Amendment are also terrorists? One place that I saw the "Michael Moore is a terrorist" phrase is a place that defends the Christian Right, although Moore has not allied himself with Dictators and Death Squads. We all must come to grips with the fact that one way or another, the Right will use terrorism in some way to make gains.

1. Wow
Now that I've paid to see his movie three times, I guess that means I'm aiding and abetting a "terrorist".

But I don't want to go to Gitmo.....

4. "One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter." Never truer.
Let's see, a few others called "terrorists" or the equivalent.

Those guys at Concord and Lexington
John Brown
The IWW
Sacco & Vanzetti
Emma Goldman
Nelson Mandela
Ghandi
The Partisans in WWII
The Palestinians
The Sandanistas
The Zapatistas
Emiliano Zapata
SNCC
Spartacus

And, many, many more.

5. Wonder how they feel about Ann Coulter...
Who has said the following...

My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is that he didn't drive into the New York Times building.

We should kill John Walker Lindh to send a message to liberals that they can be killed too.

The only argument to make in regards to Bill Clinton is impeachment or assassination.

7. I'm surprised that she wasn't
arrested by the Secret Service for that last one. I've heard of people being arrested for saying far less about W. If I wrote something like that about W here it would probably be quickly deleted, and just as well because it would put me in danger of arrest, and possibly put this whole board in danger.

I can't even believe the double standards in that regard between what was acceptable to say about Clinton, and what's acceptable to say about W.

6. They'll call anyone a terrorist.
I've heard Seymour Hersh called a terrorist as well. Anybody who tries to tell the truth, or who threatens them in any way is a terrorist. It is thrown around just as freely as the word Communist used to be.

On the other hand, if Pat Robertson happens to suggest the desirability of detonating a nuclear device at the State Department, he's just being a good patriotic American.

8. Its the new all-purpose condemnation. The idiot Right thinks all you need
to do is call names without factual backup. They are really brats.
