'outsourcing' higher education..........
That's what some call what is happening at junior/community colleges.

The instructors teach ca 5 classes/semester with no tenure and not-so-great pay.

I've heard ca 50+% of college students studied 'freshman composition' in 2-year colleges.

The whole system, some claim, is a way for 4-year universities (with and without grad schools) to save money.

It also has a negative effect on people trying to get jobs teaching at the college/university level.

I've also heard claims that faculty at major/prestige universities refuse to even discuss this at their professional meetings (eg, Modern Language Assn).
