Swift Boat Liar says Kerry shot himself!
I just heard on AAR one of those SCUM saying that Kerry's first purple heart was the result of a splinter from an RPG he fired, and NO enemy fire was involved, which is a prerequisite for purple heart

first, is that right about hostile fire?

second, and best, they played a clip of a guy asking him: "were you THERE?"

answer: No, I was not

this is what it's going to be like

WHAT ABOUT AWOL???????

30. I found this quote from him

"I signed that letter because I, too felt a deep sense of betrayal that someone who took the same oath of loyalty as I did as an officer in the United States Navy would abandon his group here (points to group photo) to join this group here (points to VVAW protest photo), and come home and attempt to rally the American public against the effort that this group was so valiantly pursuing. It is a fact that in the entire Vietnam War we did not lose one major battle. We lost the war at home ... and at home, John Kerry was the Field General." -- Robert Elder

hes just one of the men who decided to sign the letter.thats all I could find ...........so far

3. Another one has retracted his story also...
Lieutenant Commander George Elliott said in an interview that he had made a ''terrible mistake" in signing an affidavit that suggests Kerry did not deserve the Silver Star

do you think the "whore" drudge will report this?

They have all become stereotypical caricatures of their own WORST traits.

11. I agree about the Vietnam war...
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 08:16 AM by Flubadubya
it was a disgrace and should never have happened... just like Iraq. Now, I just wish the American people felt the same. Unfortunately, fitness for leadership as CIC is in play here. That's why this is such a hot potato issue.

Of course, it was John Kerry who had the intestinal fortitude to come back and decry the awful atrocities that were being perpetrated over there. Now his true bravery (speaking out against the war) is being used to beat him over the head. These other "veterans" are more upset about his denouncing the war than they are his getting purple hearts.

Real bravery is rarely recognized as such!

19. Mistakes made by a young Bush fearing war is one thing, a President and
his aides covering up that mistake is another.

It's an indicator of character and integrity, neither of which George Bush is able to display in a job that requires him to do so.

9. And the amazing thing is
That if you go back and look at the fitness reports these selfsame fellow commanders wrote on Kerry's performance during his tour, you will find that without fail the reports are very positive, glowing with praise of Kerry's actions. So what are you going to believe? The reports, written at the time, on the ground of when these incidents happened, or the forty year old memory of men who have been bought and paid for by Bushco operatives?

15. Where are Bush's medals?
I wonder if Bush was a girlie-boy cheerleader during the time Senator Kerry was getting shot at in Viet Nam.

Actually, this whole thing is part of Karl Rove's strategy of attacking the opponent at his strongest selling-point.

The strategy is bold, but sometimes backfires. This may be one of those times. In this case, the attack is so bogus that it may fire up Democrats more than help Rove's client.

18. This is a lie and demeaning to the US military on so many levels...
First, the medic who treats you is the person who recommends you for the Purple Heart.

Second, there must be witnesses to the injury.

Third, to receive the Bronze or Silver Star, you have to be receiving HAZARDOUS DUTY PAY at the time of the medal recommendation.

Fourth, the layers of bureaucracy involved in awarding every single military medal are legion. No one wants to ever be accused of awarding a bogus medal; therefore, the paperwork is staggering in its detail.

Check it out: http://neds.nebt.daps.mil/Directives/1650/two.pdf

23. Vietnam
Should be kept foremost in the public eye. It scarred a generation and was based on GOVERNMENT LIES!!!!

Young Americans should not die for lies back in 1968 or 2004!!!!

I'd like to see all of Bush's mates from his National guard days. Were they all assasinated or something? none seem to exist!

31. Lawsuit
I'm sure the paper trail on all three purple hearts is still available in all the detail that the military is famous for. With this evidence, I think a lawsuit, or threat of one, against the most serious accusers may make them put up or shut up.

With all due respect to him and his service he knew better. The article (And ABC GMA-tape) mention that he praised Kerry's heroism and service in '96.

34. Uh, then why was he shooting an RPG?
For fun? Then shouldn't a court martial be involved? Hmmmm? Is the tool calling for an investigation into that?

I don't know how these people sleep at night. Its one thing to do anything to defeat an opponent but when you get into the invention of motive and action ... well, any soldier or sailor who thinks that service during Iraq will "look good" down the road in politics out to pay close attention. It reminds me of Right to Lifers: everyone loves the fetus in utero, once born its not that interesting. Here, everyone loves "our troops!" but once they are veterans...well, they are on their own and targets for every jackass with a mental disorder.
