Why can't Ridge announce -"we are covering ALL high value targets"..period
An third grader know what the "high value targets" are and common sense would say they should be protected.

If we know they are high value.... don't you think the terrorists know that as well?

So why all the "hype"...why the waving of a terra alert? Common sense says let the authorities do their job and have bushco start talking about the issues he's ignoring, like:

- medicare
- social security
- job growth
- education

Instead we are in "issue less" campaign... with "I can protect you better" as the sole theme.

1. Bush's rating are down, time to scare the citizens into thinking
he's doing something. I was suspicious of the information when I heard it was from Pakistan. Now it turns out it's at least 3 years old. These people are amazing con artists. The really belong in jail.

2. Varying their strategy
Last time they issued a terralert and showed photos of seven people who may or may not have been terrorists. They had to do something different this time so that at least Fox would believe them.

3. An Even Better Idea: Just Stop Them!
No fanfare! No ominous warnings. If you've got information that's credible, just stop the attack, arrest the conspirators, and keep people safe.

Then, they will be doing their job and not patting themselves on the back by showing their "sort of" doing their job. The job isn't to warn. It's to defend.

So, Tommyboy, just go do your job and keep from in front of the TV cameras.

4. That was my point.... just do your jobs...tell the terra people that you
will cover all high value targets and cut the crap.

Knwoing that this is simple logic leads me to beleive all this is for other than "informing". It is to create a desired effect... which is shameful.

5. Exactly Right
Announcing this is a political ploy and has no anti-terror value. If they truly have credible information, telling the populace does nothing to improve the threat.
