Kerry Intelligence v. Bush Intelligence
Hi guys,
A coworker claims that Gore's school scores were much lower than Bush's. I don't believe that for a second, but since he chose to bring it up, are there any links to their scores? And better yet, what were Kerry's scores? How did he do? I don't necessarily think that school grades are indicative of intelligence, as far as intelligence, I think we all know who would lose that race. But this guy thinks grades are the answer, so I'll go with it.

Thanks
Steph

1. Unless they went to the same school comparisons are meaningless.

19. I believe Bush got a "c" grade at Yale. I don't know what Kerry got.
It is said he only got a pass because his father is on the board of Yale. Bush also got the lowest possible pass grade in his "Air Guard" pilot test.

3. I've heard Right Wingers claim that Gore flunked out of school
That does not mean I believe it. Of course grades in school can reflect a lot of thing: the school you go to, your interest in the subject, how much your dad contributed to the school.

I think the real question is where does Bush stand now. Did his years of drinking and drug abuse cost him ? Watch him closely and I think you'll see the answer.

6. I believe he ( Bush) has refused release of any of his school records so
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 07:23 PM by kikiek
hard to believe anyone would be able to compare any. It is well known however that he was denied access to Univ of Texas Law School because of bad grades. Of course daddy had better pull at the ivy league schools.

12. Must have changed his mind..He initially wouldn't allow release of
his grades from Andover or Yale. It's a joke that he got into Yale. Interesting older article http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/campaigns/wh2000/stories/bush072799.htm

9. Bush: High school at Phillips Andover Academy in Andover, MA
(an elite prep school), College: Yale, Business School: Harvard

Gore: High school at St. Alban's (elite prep school in Washington, D.C.), College: Harvard (he was actually roommates with Tommy Lee Jones).

10. Bush has actually bragged about being a "C Student" at Yale
During a commencement speech there, he said "to the C students, I say, You too can become president of the United States"

11. So right wingers are still lying about Gore =
He has authored several books and many articles and papers. They were not trite opinion and memoir books. They are science related. There was an article during the 2000 campaign quoting scientists who were extremely impressed with the way Gore studied, digested, and presented difficult material. Can you imagine * even reading an introduction related to books on the environment and energy?

Go to Urban Legends and see if they have something about the grades...what your contacts are saying is a lie.

13. SAT scores, too
Both Bush and Gore's SAT scores are out there. Just Google bush gore sat and you'll find it. Gore had great scores, Bush was too low for Yale.

14. Frankly, I care less if one was a screw up in college. I DO
care if one has not progressed beyond the frat house for the next twenty odd years.

15. Not that it means fuck all...
But neither Bush or Gore were GREAT students in "government" classes according to this link. Gore took a lot more of them, though...
