Laura Bush tours Citigroup/NYC with Gov. Pataki today
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 02:55 PM by plastic_turkeys
As a "morale booster" for the threatened (booga booga booga) employees there. Is this the ultimate photo-op? Her husband keeps us so safe that he even will send his wife to their Saudi friend's bank to show how effective he is at stopping terra!

First lady Laura Bush shakes hands with people as New York Gov. George Pataki, right, looks on while visiting the Citigroup Center Monday Aug. 2, 2004, in New York. To show confidence in the city's response to the warning about possible terrorist attacks against major financial institutions Pataki and Bush visited the Citigroup Center, one of several buildings cited by the government in a detailed warning Sunday.

5. What does it say about a man who will send his own wife
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 02:13 PM by spenbax
and daughters into harms way for his political advantage? You know damn well if the terra alerts were real, the Secret Service would not have allowed such a thing. This is ridiculous and should be pointed out by every news media in the world. What an asshole.

6. Instead, the media is showing Laura chatting with employees
Without commenting what a strange tableau it paints.

12. Right on spenbax
The sad thing is that even if the media were to point out the idiocy of this announcement when coupled with the terror alerts, most people wouldn't connect the dots. dimson knows there is nothing to worry about. tom ridge says that we should just go to work as usual. What a total pile of garbage.

14. That either he is willing to sacrifice her for political gain, or....
that their is no actual threat, and the alert was just another fear-mongering, right-wing political stunt.

Either way, it's all about Monkey Boy's poll numbers. Fuckers.

10. People in New York can relax.
This just proves New York is probably the safest place in the country. God, this pisses me off - 50% of this country will say what a brave man Bush is to put his wife in the very building that has been targeted. WHAT A CROCK OF SHIT.

going himself would really be brave, considering how much people here despise him.
