I think one of the best ads John Kerry could air would be one like a movie trailer.
During the ad, we hear drum beats, then patriotic fanfare (similar to the theme from "The American President"). A traditional, deep-voiced narrator (like the guy that does all of the Hollywood trailers) says, "On November 2, one man must rise to defend the American people; restore to our great republic honour and hope; strengthen our armed forces and jobs; etc." Images of workers and soldiers, kids and senior citizens, fishermen and firefighters, and others are shown, all looking up majestically, as though they are trying to find a real leader. The narrator continues, "This one man will display his courage and might as he fights for the people of this land." Then the music crescendos and John Kerry emerges and salutes. "This man is John Kerry." More patriotic fanfare.
Obviously, that's a basic premise for any ad. I just think that something similar to a movie ad would garner more attention and make the candidate stick out (for the better).
