My 89 yr. old friend: "I don't even know if I can take seeing anymore!"
I visited her at her retirement home tonight and she was watching the news about the newest terror alert. She is a lifelong staunch Republican (the old fashioned fiscal conservative, not the fundy neocon type). She said how sorry she was to be leaving this 'kind of world' to her grandkids ("MERCY! Every DAY there is something new, Bush has botched this place up bad!") and I assured her it wasn't her fault or her generation's fault. Anyhow I thought it was kind of sad...on the other hand, she wants an absentee ballot so she can vote for John Kerry!

4. I will. Lot's of hugs :)
That generation is amazing. For all their old prejudices and foibles they are often remarkably astute of the changes that have taken place under *.

5. My 96-year old godmother says Bush is a liar and there evil people around
him. She didn't get to be 96 being an idiot.
