Could the Grand Jury be investigating witness tampering or intimidation?
The Newsweek article states that witnesses have been recalled. Could Fitzgerald be mad that there has been an all out effort to discredit Wilson and Plame, the key witnesses involved in the Grand Jury investigation? In his interview to William Pitt, Amb. Wilson said that 3 members of congress have been trying to derail the investigation. Do you think the efforts are now being investigated? It is a possibility.....

Though most lawyers thought the investigation was nearly complete, sources say Fitzgerald has recently recalled witnesses before the grand jury—apparently to ask about issues raised by a new Senate intelligence committee report that seemed to contradict some of Wilson's public statements about Plame's role in his trip to Niger.

1. Or perjury?
Aren't people under oath when they testify before a grand jury?

2. Yes, something is telling me that this is gonna be
a surprise for most, as to who is involved.

Now who may be trying to derail the investigation? Could it be... FRITZ and WARNER?

No, don't say it, don't make it so... maybe Inhofe? No, please don't make it so.

This is just my list of suspects... anybody else?

Reminds me of a SNL sketch, could it be.... SATAN?

6. I wish Amb Wilson had just named the senators that were trying to
derail the investigation. That would have been nice. Maybe the grand jury and the prosecutor were angered by the interference and instead of slowing their efforts, the attacks spurred them on to go beyond the outing itself?

Maybe, just maybe...

4. Yes they are. Could be perjury too.
But imagine the ramifications if Fitzgerald discovered that the efforts to discredit Wilson were part of an enterprise or conspiracy to derail his investigation as to who outed Plame and why. Instead of closing shop and "packing his briefcase" as was suggested by the WSJ, he decides to find out who put the folks up to discrediting Wilson and Plame.

The enterprise (RICO) or the conspiracy deepens....

8. I read that too. Just imagine how angry he must have been
to have read that WSJ op piece suggesting that nepotism on Plame's part was the real crime. Knowing all he knows, I bet that pissed him off and made him more determined. Determined to connect all the dots (like you all in Plame have done) and determined to get the folks who are trying to derail his efforts.

10. The article cited in the first post is a Newsweek article about Powell
testifying before the grand jury in July. It contains this paragraph:

====================
Though most lawyers thought the investigation was nearly complete, sources say Fitzgerald has recently recalled witnesses before the grand jury—apparently to ask about issues raised by a new Senate intelligence committee report that seemed to contradict some of Wilson's public statements about Plame's role in his trip to Niger.

http://msnbc.msn.com/id/5570006/site/newsweek
====================

That to me means Fitzgerald may be somewhat curious about all the efforts to discredit Wilson and Plame. Also, since they are essentially his central witneses, he wants to determine if there is any credibility to the efforts to attack them and if there have been any crimes committed in the efforts, like intimidation of witnesses.
IMHO
