I have very strong feelings about mental health clinicians promoting themselves and the treatment of very fragile families or individuals on a media, prime time outlet. I think it is irresponsible and unethical. The fact that these people give him permission and that he makes himself out to be the equivalent of a mental ghandi is irrelevant. HE IS MAKING MONEY, A LOT OF MONEY, BY SHOWCASING THE DYSFUNCTIONAL HABITS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE HURTING ON A MASSIVE MEDIA BASED MEDIUM!!!
It is wrong and it should be stopped. And BTW, as a clinician myself, successful thank you, he is not so wonderful. The same answers and a great relationship can be found amoong any credible therapist. This guy ceased to be credible when he placed whatever "theme" he has in mind for the guests he casts on the show. Oh I know he sounds great and what a smart nice guy but what he is doing is wrong, wrong, wrong.
Ok--I'll reload later. Don't try to get your therapy off the TV. Its bad news and will fuck you up.
