Bonnie Anderson is suing CNN where she served as VP for Recruitment saying they fired her for refusing to go along with discriminatory hiring practices. Her book has more horrifying anecdotes about CNN than any other network, although Fox and the broadcast networks get their fair share of shame.
Her take on CNN's decline is that entertainment has been increasingly favored over news for the last several years, due to commercial considerations. Seeing Fox News overtake them, and succumbing to the controlling aspects of the Bush White house, they have allowed quality to decline terribly. They have replaced talented journalists with spokesmodels. Infotainment has triumphed and most dissenting voices have been silenced. (Christiane Amanpour is the most vocal dissident at CNN who remains employed there.) Since 9/11 they have jumped on the patriotic bandwagon and become full scale Bush supporters.
Anderson does portray most CNN staff in a favorable light while savaging the management.
