OK, I'm in!
As some of you know, I've been a vocal critic of Kerry, mainly for his stance on the war and his corporate ties. I've been engaged in a debate with myself, and some of the people here, on whether or not to vote for Kerry, or cut my ties with the party and go Green. Well, after listening to Kerry's speech last night, and taking stock of the situation in this country, I've decided to support Kerry this fall(though I will probably be going Green for some local and state races). The imperative to get Bush out of office is overriding and vital. Within the next few days I'll be going down to my local Democratic office and signing up to work on the campaign.

However I will still be holding Kerry's feet to the fire over the one issue that is the most important to me, getting the US out of Iraq. While I feel that his position on the war is disturbingly similar to Bush's, I am confident that he won't expand the conflict to the surrounding ME area. I also think that he will be a bit more responsive to the anti-war majority in this country, hence, I will be holding his feet to the fire on that issue.

His other positions on other issues are more or less acceptable. It was gratifying to hear him acknowledge the enormous problem of outsourcing in this country, and that he is willing to work on correcting it. As with all of his positions, I want to see him flesh them out a bit, but hopefully that will come in due time.

So count this leftist in, at least for now. I'm still disappointed with the direction the party is going, and will be working both within and without the party to correct that. But for this election, I will put aside my differences, retain my party loyalty and memberships, and work hard to put Kerry in the Oval Office.

2. while you hold his feet to the fire
i will be holding others feet to fire. cause we have responsibilities in this too. and that is going to mean, that we dont get all we want, exactly our way, and we do have a responsibility to listen to the other and.........think, wink. off the repug thing of people dont want president who thinks, cause we dont like to think. fuck that, i totally embrace the "thinking" thing

also in a part of clinton there was a liar, and i say it in love and it was more in the destructive of personal, which wasnt as bothersome for me because i was much more interested in what we hired him for

and now we have had bush, .....has changed every number, of report and studies, so cannot trust

ads mistruth, so we cannot trust

foriegn policy in lies..........so we know we cant trust

in religion lies and hypocrasy, so we cannot trust

my point is we have had a horribly jaded four years with bush, but we had 8 years of a liter version with clinton

this alone will make a challenge for kerry, there is no trust, not little, but man, no trust. so it is going to have to be him in aware and knowledge of where we are in perception, work with us, but we too have to understand we are giving this to kerry, and he hasnt earned it yet
