Hope Is NOT On The Way. Hope Is HERE. Bush is FINISHED.
Let me preface this by saying I was never a supporter of John Kerry.

Throughout the campaigns and the Primaries, my heart resided with Denis Kucinich, and my head was hoping for a more realistic Dean/Clark Ticket.

I was upset after Iowa at Kerry's "coronation" before the primary season had even gotten started.

I was firmly against Kerry for many reasons, including IWR. I felt that Kerry was not a solution, but merely a finger in the dike to stop the bleeding until we could get a real President in 2008.

To be honest, I didn't much care for the man.

But as these months after Iowa passed, I began to learn about the man. I will admit my curiosity was stirred by our own Will Pitt, because he was such a strong supporter. It made me want to learn more about the man. And so I did.

I watched and learned. About the man, about his Service to our country, about his accomplishments, his plan for America, his family. And as the months wore on I became more impressed. I was ELATED when he chose John Edwards, because I felt that not only was that a strong leadership choice, but it would provide the charisma and personality that I felt Kerry lacked in the campaign against "Great Leader."

I was very nervous about tonight's speech. I have never really been impressed by Kerry as a public speaker, and I was worried that if he did not hit a home run tonight, the Orwellian Media would Skewer him, and it would make things very difficult in the months ahead.

Let's face it my friends, tonight was perhaps the most important speech of John Kerry's life, but ALL our lives. We ALL needed to hear something that would stir us, make us rise up, and mobilize us to fight the Criminals and Thugs that have overtaken our country and Hijacked our Democracy. Tonight was the beginning of a long campaign that will not only determine the Fate of this country, but perhaps the Planet's as well.

John Kerry did NOT give the Speech of his life tonight.

He Gave A Speech For The Ages.

Tonight I watched an oratory that moved and inspired me, that gave me Hope. The Hope that has been missing ever since December 12, 2000. The Hope that was stolen from us on a cold December morning, as this Criminal treasonous Thug-Child from Texas slunk into the Presidency via the Back Door of a Corrupted Supreme Court. The Hope that was ripped from us all on September 11. The Hope that has been siphoned from us the past three years by these Treasonous Bastards who have broken every law conceivable, and undermined our Constitution at every turn. The Hope that was trampled on when we were taken to War on a LIE, killed tens of thousands of people and lost 900 of our own Sons and Daughters, for no other reason than a few pieces of Silver. The Hope that was shorn from us as our Government alienated us in the eyes of the rest of the world, and took us from the most Respected and Revered nation on Earth to the most Reviled and Feared.

Tonight, John Kerry gave me and all of us a taste of that hope. A taste of what he can accomplish. A taste of what our future can be. A taste of what can come to pass if we ALL work together.

There is much work to do between now and November. We must NOT be complacent. We know after the events of today prior to Kerry's speech that all of our suspicions about what these Bastards are prepared to do to stay in Power are true.

We must not fear them. We must FIGHT them.

The Stakes are too high. We must rise up from EVERY corner of this Nation and meet the challenge that lies before us.

Tonight John Kerry showed me what I've been missing these past four years.

Hope.

He showed me he has a plan. He showed me he is the man for the job.

Now let's join him and show that fucking Psuedo-Cowboy the DOOR.

Hope Is Not On The Way.

Hope Is Here.

And for the NeoCons, This is The Beginning Of The End.

That Knock you hear at the Door Mr. Bush, is America.

We've come for our Country.

I suggest you answer the door.

And don't worry, we'll be sure to hit you in the ass as hard as we can with it on your way out.

1. Great speech last night!
Edwards: Hope is on the way
Kerry: Help is on the way

Pretty much sums up their respective part in this campaign!

2. Hope is here -Your right! And tonight, John Kerry helped me feel it again
Edited on Fri Jul-30-04 03:09 AM by Pachamama
Wow.....

I had tears in my eyes....I felt for the first time in a very long time a sense of hope....hope for my country, hope for my children's future, hope for my fellow American's and for the future of all of our lifes. I wanted to wave my American Flag....he made it feel like it belonged to me again and not the Republican Right Wing Neo-cons...

I felt a joy in my heart that I can only say felt "right"....

I don't care what the so-called "political" pundits and experts say about Kerry's speech, whether he went too fast through it, wasn't as great as Clinton (or whoever)....all I know is that he made me feel hope again....hope for my future and my country's future which I haven't felt since Clinton left office and the whole election debacle of 2000....

I know that in America anyone who was undecided couldn't have helped but feel that....

Thank you John Kerry....I will be so proud for you to be my leader and make me proud again of this country that I love...

3. fantastic post, Watcher
I, a long-time (3 years and counting) John Kerry for President supporter, deathly feared that the Democratic party wouldn't unify to defeat George W. Bush. I worked in the 2000 election, and it really saddened me. Liberals and moderates alike had a strong disdain for W, but some voted for Nader or other canidates instead of unifying to defeat the common foe- much to the Republican Party's delight.
Not this year.
We WILL unite and DEFEAT BUSH! :bounce: :bounce:

4. Beautiful thoughts, Watcher
Your story of well-considered conversion is an inspiration, and a hope that your path reflects one taken by many others.

I'm watching his speech for the third time now on CSPAN, and it just gets better with each viewing.

Goal: to inspire voters with confidence and exude strength.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!

5. Hope is Here!
But this isn't just the hope that has been so cynically destroyed since 2000. It's a hope I haven't felt since 1969, when I believed in a future where silly hatred over skin color or sexual orientation or religious differences wouldn't exist. A future with children growing up healthy and safe. A future where our air and water and skies would be clean and renewed. It's a future the Republican Party stole from me, stole from my children. Bill Clinton moved us away from the cliff and I am grateful. But I think John Kerry has a completely different vision and a determination to show the country the cliff, show the country the danger, and make sure we know that there is a better, brighter path to take. Nobody has inspired me like this since MLK and Bobby. What if? Dare to dream. A new day is on the way!

6. Couldn't have said it better myself! Thanks, Watcher.
John Kerry's speech amazed me with its intensity and passion! I never knew the man had that much fire in his gut.

Last night, Senator Kerry firmly convinced me--and, presumably, a lot of other people--that he could be a damned good president. Now it's our job to make sure that he gets the chance!

9. A true American Hero.
Unlike the pretender that got selected John Kerry is highly qualified to be the Pres. of the USA. John Edwards is also qualified to be the VP. I feel that they will take America on a much better course than the Neo Fascists. I hope they can resolve the Iraq and Afghanistan debacles and steer the ship of state out of treacherous waters.

10. Yes, responding to your passionate post and title!
I was not a Kerry gal either. Dean, then Clark, then Edwards. Kerry was fourth for me.

But I'm a believer now, too. Scary to put your heart out there ain't it?

And Kerry also said, "I will fight with all my HEART, but it's up to you."
